Chip's FREE MLB Winner
Milwaukee at Chicago 2:20 ET
Cubs over Brewers- The Cubs have won five of the last six meetings including three shutouts against the Brewers as they 'gear' up when playing their nearest division competitor. Yu Darvish (0-2, 6.86 ERA) has been disappointing so far as a member of the Chicago Cubs, but Milwaukee's starter Brent Suter (1-2, 5.68) has been just as bad. Home win...take CHICAGO!
Friday's FREE MLB WINNER: St. Louis Cardinals.
Game 957.
4:05 pm pst.
St. Louis has quietly taken over the top spot in the NL Central, winning their L4 series over New York, Chicago, and 2 against Cincinnati. Miles Mikolas gets the road start here. The RH is 3-0 with a 3.46 ERA on the season. LH, Steven Brault (2-1, 4.44) gets the nod at home. The Cardinals are 6-1 their L7 games played on the road, 8-1 their L9 vs. the NL Central, and 10-2 their L12 games played overall. Take St. Louis. Thank you.
Your Friday freebie is the Cavs-Pacers Under the total.
The oddsmakers have not budged too much off of the totals in this Cavaliers-Pacers series, and these teams certainly have not budged either, as it has been low, low, low, and more low when these teams face another.
While there have been definite moments of fast-paced offense in this series, invariably one team - if not both - just gets stopped by the other team's defense, and the Under has cashed in all 5 of the games played to date.
Track it back further, and they Under is 7-0-1 the past 8 meetings this year, and 8-1-1 the past 10 series meetings!
The Cavs are 12-4 Under the total in their last 1 games dating back to the regular season, while the Pacers are on a pronounced 23-7 Under run their last 30 that dates back to the regular season.
Cleveland has reached the triple-digit mark just twice in this series, while Indiana only once through 5 games. It sure looks like first team to 100 is the winner to me.
Until the oddsmakers bump the total down a few buckets, I suggest sticking with the established series trends, and the established team trends that all point towards another Under.
You really can't get much closer than these teams have been over the past four games in this series! After a ringing 18-point outright road win in Game One that went to Indiana, the next four have been decided by a grand total of just 12-points, with the Cavaliers coming out on top in three of those four.
Percentages are heavily in favor of the team that wins Game Five when tied at two to win the series, and that well may be the case, but I don't see it happening on Indiana's home court tonight.
Cleveland is/was sky-high after the LeBron James block on Victor Oladipo's and his subsequent three-pointer as time expired to win the game outright for the Cavaliers in their home court, but they are NOT playing this one at home tonight, and I think they are going to be a little "hungover" from that emotional win. On the flip side, I see Indy using that loss as a major motivator in front of their home crowd, and I see them getting out in front early in this one (they were up seven at the break on Wednesday) and staying out in front in this game as they look to push this one to the full seven games.
Oladipo had another "off" game - his third in a row - and Collison was saddled with foul issues. I just don't see that happening again tonight.
The home team has won outright in six of the last eight meetings, and the Pacers are on a 7-2 against the spread run the past nine meetings.

MLB | Rockies vs Marlins
Play on: Marlins +123 at betonline
Free Pick on Marlins +123
I'm recommending a play on the Marlins as a home dog in Friday's contest with the Rockies. Miami is going to be one of the worst teams in the league, but they come in having won two straight, the most recent being a 8-6 win over Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers. I look for the Marlins to ride that momentum here with a win against Colorado.
Miami will send out Jose Urena, who is a better talent than what he's shown in his first 5 starts. He'll be facing a Rockies team that is hitting just .210 as a team on the road this season. Colorado will counter with Tyler Anderson, who has a 5.54 ERA and 1.615 WHIP in 3 road starts.
Anderson did pitch well in his last outing, but the Rockies are just 1-6 in Anderson's last 7 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance. Colorado is also 2-8 in their last 10 when playing after an off day. Take Miami!

MLB | Yankees vs Angels
Play on: Yankees -139 at 5Dimes
Dave’s Friday Free Play:
1* on New York Yankees -139 The Key: The New York Yankees are as hot as any team in baseball right now. They are 6-0 in their last 6 games overall with 5 of those wins coming by 3 runs or more. They have outscored the opposition 47-13 during this 6-game winning streak. Ace Luis Severino gets the ball and looks to extend the streak to 7 games tonight. Severino is 4-1 with a 2.32 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 5 starts this season. He’ll be opposed by Andrew Heaney, who is 0-1with a 9.65 ERA and 1.72 WHIP in 2 starts this season. He just gave up 7 earned runs and 3 homers in 4 1/3 innings at home to the Giants in his last start. His other start came against the light-hitting Royals where he gave up 4 runs, 3 earned, in 5 innings. Now he must face this red-hot Yankees lineup, and I don’t expect him to fare too well tonight. Take New York.

MLB | White Sox vs Royals
Play on: Royals -121 at pinnacle
Kansas City -121
The Royals are at a generous price here and worthy of a flyer on Friday.
Kansas City has been abysmal to say the least this season, but Danny Duffy is one of the very few Royals pitchers who can turn in a solid performance despite his rough start.
Duffy has been this teams ace in the past few seasons and will face one of the worst offenses in the MLB here. Look for him to really utilize his secondary pitches and keep this lineup off balanced all night.
Some trends to note. White Sox are 8-23 in their last 31 games vs. a left-handed starter. White Sox are 5-16 in their last 21 overall.
Chicago is just a wreck. This is a nice bounce back spot and a fade position here on Friday.
Back Kansas City.
Good Luck, Razor Ray.

MLB | Diamondbacks vs Nationals
Play on: Diamondbacks +147 at YouWager
Friday MLB Free play. My selection is on Arizona over Washington at 7:05 pm et on Friday.
The D'Backs continue to roll along, yet they're not getting much respect from the betting marketplace in Washington on Friday night.
While the Snakes breezed to a series win over the Phillies, the Nationals are coming off a tough series in San Francisco, albeit one that ended on a high note with a 15-2 rout of the Giants on Wednesday afternoon. I'm not convinced we'll see carry-over from that performance here, however.
Zach Godley will get the nod for Arizona. He checks in with solid if not spectacular numbers having gone 3-1 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.16 WHIP. Don't be fooled by Wednesday's onslaught - the Nats' offense has been relatively inconsistent lately.
Stephen Strasburg will counter for Washington. He's off to a fine start, having recorded a 2.97 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. But is it enough to warrant the lofty price here? I'm not so sure. In what should be a well pitched game from both sides on Friday night, I'll back the underdog. Take Arizona (8*).
