A nice 2-1 day keeps us tracking upwards this MLB season but it’s annoying to have been stopped of a 3-0 sweep in extra innings.
That being said, it’s now on to the next one as we look to keep the profits coming:

Toronto Blue Jays @ Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays look to complete a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays against a pitcher they’ve had more than their fare share of success against in recent times. Marco Estrada is already low on confidence at the moment and will certainly have memories of some rough outings against Tampa Bay last season. Estrada has allowed four or more runs in his last four straight starts and owns a 4.96 ERA against the Rays in his career. Last season, he went 0-4 against them with a woeful 10.61 ERA to match – allowing 35 hits and walking eight in 18 innings of work. The Rays offence has finally started to get rolling at home after a slow start, with the team averaging 4.60 runs per game at Tropicana Field. They’ve scored 11 runs so far this series and have scored Over 3.5 runs in five of the last six between these sides. We’ve got a great lean on this particular total and while we do like the Rays to win outright and claim the sweep we feel the team total is the better option for a bigger investment.

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Milwaukee Brewers
The return of Ryan Braun is a huge boost for the Brewers in this one as they look to claim their series over the Pirates – what’s more interesting is the price we’re getting for a team owning the better pitcher and better line up. Milwaukee will send veteran ace Chase Anderson to the mound and he’ll look to continue his strong showing against the Pirates. The 30-year-old is 6-2 in 11 starts against Pittsburgh and sports a very respectable 2.86 ERA to match. His opposite, Chad Kuhl, is coming off his worst performance of the season and while he owns a neat career record against the Brewers (2-0 with a 2.42 ERA) our projections have the home side being at least 2.4 runs better than Pittsburgh in this match up. We love the value here for a team that we rate as $1.62 favourites according to our numbers.
