Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays recorded their second walk-off win over the Red Sox this season as they kept their impressive record in tact when scoring 5+ runs. Toronto are 17-0 when hitting five or more runs in a game this season but they’ll have a tough time scoring against a man that has had their number throughout his career. David Price will return to the mound for Boston hoping to recapture his best form against a side he has simply dominated over the years. The left-hander is 17-3 with a 2.40 ERA in his 26 appearances against the Blue Jays and went 1-1 with a 2.49 ERA against them last season. Meanwhile, Marco Estrada hasn’t had anywhere near the same success pitching against the Red Sox in his career. Last season, he gave up a 4.12 ERA against them and failed to capture a win in four starts. The Red Sox are allowing just 3.35 runs per game against them on the road this season and we feel Price will do enough to keep Toronto at bay as his hitters take care of a careless Estrada.

Both sides broke out the bats last time out as Milwaukee continued their impressive form on the road this season in an 11-10 win. That snapped a run of six straight Unders between these sides, but we expect that trend to return for this one. The Brewers will hope their ace pitcher, Chase Anderson, can return to his best form at the mound against a team he dealt with rather comfortably last season. Anderson went 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA in two starts against them last season and his side will be hoping he can find that rhythm once again after starting the season in promising fashion. Aside from that breakout in their last game, Colorado’s hitters have been going through a bit of a cold streak and that could work in favour of Anderson here. In their previous five starts, the team had averaged just 2.2 runs per game, and have score more than four runs in just two of their last 10 overall. On the other side of things, Kyle Freeland is certainly starting to find his best form at the mound. In his last three starts he’s gone 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA – lasting at least seven innings in each of those appearances. Seven of the last eight meetings between these sides in Colorado have stayed Under the match total and our projections have this one against following suit with a projected 9.6 runs being scored here.

Both of these teams play a style of hockey that allows for a lot of goals and this fast-paced style will account for plenty of shots on goal tonight. Vegas averaged 3.3 gpg this season and the Jets averaged 3.8 gpg at home this season. The Jets put up 4 or more goals in their last 3 games against a very good defensive Predators team and I expect them to average over 4 gpg in this series. The O/U is 24-10 for the Jets in their last 34 games when playing a team with a win rate above .600 and the Jets have one of the best power-plays in the NHL converting at 25.5% at home this season. Just look at how the Predators could not stop them giving up 5 goals at home in a Game 7 and the Predators are the best defensive team in the NHL. Vegas might get 1 or 2 games in this series and that will only happen in Vegas. The Jets are 20-6 in their last 26 games against a Pacific Division opponent and 42-11 in their last 53 home games. The Jets are also 31-13 in their last 44 games revenging a loss against an opponent. Play Winnipeg ML as we move to 19-5 in the NHL playoffs.
