Let's take a look at another underdog for tonight with my free play, as I like the Miami Marlins to get it done in Chicago against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

And in this game I want you listing ONLY Jose Urena.

Urena faced the Cubs on Opening Day, and now he gets them after several nice tune ups leading up to his rematch. The right-hander is still in search of his first win.
In the season-opener, Urena was tagged for five runs over four innings. But over his past two starts, the righty has given up three runs - only two of them earned - while recording 11 strikeouts over 14 innings.

He's progressiely been better, while showing durability. After three straight starts of lasting just five innings, he's gone seven innings in his past two starts, while dropping his ERA from 5.88 to 4.28.

I'm taking a shot here with the Marlins, and listing Urena only.

Play the New York Yankees as my free play, as they get it done over the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees are making a surge in the American League East, having won six straight and 10 of 11. They're sitting just one game back of division-leading Boston, and with the Red Sox in town to renew the rivalry for the first time since a month ago, we could see these teams tied in the East by day's end.

New York, which is 14-5 in Yankee Stadium, is hitting .250 this season. But at home, the pinstripes are batting .267 - fifth best in the league. Overall, the Yankees lead the bigs with 197 runs, with 126 of them coming in their own stadium, also No. 1 in the league.

The Red Sox arrive at the wrong time, as New York is playing as well as it's played all season.

All stripes on a Tuesday night on 161st Street.

MAKE NOTE: All Run Line/Total plays automatically list pitchers with the starters who are scheduled to go at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who goes for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That being said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by re-wagering the game if that takes place.

My comp play tonight is for the Red Sox and Yankees to open their set with an Under.

We know that both teams can put runs on the scoreboard, but tonight I am going to look for the starters to keep things quiet on the Yankee Stadium scoreboard as Drew Pomeranz and Luis Severino step to the mound.

Pomeranz may sport an over 6 ERA for his 3 season starts this year, but 2 of his 3 starts have ended up holding Under the total. He has had success against the Yankees in his career, going 3-2 in his 10 games (9 of them starts) with a 3.33 ERA.

As for Severino, he has emerged as the "ace" of this New York staff, and brings an under two ERA (1.57) over his last 3 starts - all of them Unders - into tonight's redemption start. Sevy is just 2-5 with a 4.58 ERA for his career against Boston, including getting torched in April at Fenway Park.

Expect Severino to be much better tonight, and expect the runs to be limited in this first of three from the Bronx.

          Red Sox-Yankees Under.

            On to my complimentary winner...

After hitting the New York Mets on Monday, I'll come back in baseball with my free play for Tuesday on t he Tampa Bay Rays over the slumping Atlanta Braves.

The recent sweep at the hands of the Giants must have been a big piece of humble pie for the Braves.

They came in playing very good baseball over the final five games of their road trip and were feeling really good about themselves. Then they ran into a hot team that hit the cover off the ball against the team's flame thrower Mike Foltynewicz, crafty veteran Brandon McCarthy, & promising rookie Mike Soroka. That dropped the confidence level of the staff, and quite frankly the rest of the team that couldn't respond.

I mean, several of the team's hitters suddenly went cold: Ender Inciarte was 0-for-11, Freddie Freeman went 2-for-12, Ronald Acuna Jr. was 2-for-12 and Johan Camargo was a dismal 1-for-8. If there was one positive from the series, it was solid defense. And that was against a San Francisco team that committed eight errors. But the Braves couldn't generate offense. The Braves hit into double plays, and could not capitalize on the numerous extra outs and extra bases the Giants defense gave them.

Now they head to Tampa Bay, where the Rays have gone 8-8 this season. They're two games under .500 for the year, and will look to bounce back from Sunday's 2-1 home loss to Toronto.

Play the Rays against the struggling Braves.

            5* RAYS

I'm recommending a play on the Blue Jays as a home dog against the Mariners on Tuesday. Toronto simply isn't getting a enough respect on their home field. One of the reasons Seattle is getting so much love is this will be James Paxton's first start since he struck out 16 in 7 innings.
The thing is, Paxton has been up and down all season and still owns a mere 4.19 ERA and 1.319 WHIP in 7 starts. He's also got a 4.71 ERA in 4 road starts and a ugly 6.86 ERA and 1.779 WHIP in 4 career starts against the Blue Jays.
Toronto will counter with Marcus Stroman, who has some awful numbers over his first 6 starts. Stroman is 0-4 with a 7.52 ERA and 1.639 WHIP. The thing is, he missed most of spring training and is just now to the point where he should have been on opening day. We saw signs of that in his last start, which he allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings. You can also see it in his control. After walking 14 in his first 4 starts, he's only allowed 2 free passes in his last 2 outings.
Blue Jays are 5-0 in Stroman's last 5 starts after a Quality Start in his last outing. They are also 8-3 in their last 11 during Game 1 of a series. Take Toronto!
