The Rockets were throttled in Game 1 and now look to bounce back here in Game 2 on Wednesday.
We learned that it is likely going to be near impossible to beat this Warriors team in a 7 game series after Game 1. However, with Houston at home here, this is certainly their chance to grab a win.
The Rockets defense let them down in Game 1, something that has oddly been good all season long. Houston has been able to close out on shooters so well and really control the tempo of games. Things got away from them in the 3rd quarter pace wise, which is one thing you should watch for here. Look for the Rockets to slow things down just a little bit, trying to throw the Warriors off.
With home court and the series essentially on the line here, grab the home side.

The Indians have also been crushing the ball at the plate and this has helped lead the way to the over going 10-3-1 in Cleveland's game this month. They certainly should stay hot against Tigers southpaw Ryan Carpenter. He has been pitching in the minors since getting rocked by the Pirates in his lone start at the MLB level this season. That was Carpenter's first ever MLB start but I don't expect the 2nd one to go much better as he has a 5.14 ERA at the AAA level in his minor league career. Mikolas has compiled 35 strikeouts and only three walks in 46 2/3 innings.
Lynn has shown better control over his last two starts, walking only two batters after issuing 23 free passes over his first five outings. The 31-year-old has only one quality start among his seven outings, though, and gave up four runs over 4 2/3 frames in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Angels last time out. Lynn has allowed six runs in 10 innings across two home starts.

Wednesday MLB Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Cincinnati and San Francisco at 3:45 pm et on Wednesday.
I like the way the 'under' sets up at AT&T Park on Wednesday afternoon as Matt Harvey goes up against Andrew Suarez.
Harvey has been given a second chance of sorts by the Reds and if his first start with his new club was any indication, a fresh start might be just what the doctor ordered. Harvey allowed just one hit over four shutout innings against the Dodgers last Friday night. I look for him to put together another solid outing against the Giants on Wednesday.
Andrew Suarez was rocked in his last start for the Giants. That was against a surging Pirates club. While the Reds have enjoyed some success on their current road trip, it's not as if their offense has been rolling. Note that Suarez has worked into the sixth inning at least in three of his four starts this season.
The Giants have been one of the best 'over' bets in baseball in the early going this season but I'm not sure that trend is sustainable. We won with the 'over' in the opener of this series on Monday but I won't hesitate to switch gears on Wednesday afternoon as I believe this number will prove too high. Take the under (8*).

Reds vs Giants Free Pick May 16, 2018
The Giants have scored 15 runs while winning the first two games of this home series versus Cinci, and I expect to see a slugfest in Game 3.
Matt Harvey was actually quite sharp in his debut for the Reds, but that was against the light hitting Dodgers in their pitcher's park. The wind is blowing out in San Francisco today, and Harvey was torched for seven runs on nine hits in six innings in his last start versus the Giants.
San Francisco will send Andrew Suarez to the mound, and the lefty was roughed up in his last start. He gave up five runs on seven hits in four innings in a loss at Pittsburgh.
Andrew McCutchen is batting .444 with a home run lifetime versus Harvey.

I'll take my chances here with the Cubs coming out of Tuesday's matchup in Atlanta with a win. Chicago scored 2 runs in the Top of the 9th to secure a 3-2 win on Tuesday and I look for them to carry over that momentum to another victory Wednesday. The Cubs are playing well with a 6-2 record over their last 8 and I give them the edge here on the mound. Chicago will send out Tyler Chatwood, who is 3-3 with a respectable 3.34 ERA in 7 starts and has a 2.81 ERA over his last 3 outings. Atlanta will counter with the struggling Brandon McCarthy, who has a 5.58 ERA and 1.711 WHIP in 8 starts overall, 7.08 ERA in 3 outings at home and 9.88 ERA in his last 3 starts. Give me the Cubs -101!

We played the Jets in Game 1 and then had a play on the UNDER in Game 2. We think that Game 3 will be another tightly checked affair. Both goaltenders have been difference makers in the playoffs for their respective clubs and we look for them to once again by the main story line in tomorrow’s summaries. Note that Connor Hellebuyck is 9-5 with a 2.29 GAA to this point, while with Marc-Andre Fleury is 9-3 with a 1.68 GAA thus far. Also note that Winnipeg has already seen the total go UNDER the number in ten of 16 this year in trying to revenge a loss against an opponent, while Vegas has seen the total go UNDER in 18 of 30 this season after a win by two goals or more. Consider the UNDER in Game 3.
