I'm recommending a play on the Reds as a decently priced home dog against division rival Pittsburgh. Cincinnati will have Matt Harvey on the mound for his third start since coming over from New York. While Harvey pitched just 4 innings in each of his first 2 starts, he's been effective, allowing just 3 runs on 8 hits. The most important thing is the Reds have found a way to win both times he's been out there.
I think they keep it going with Harvey behind a big day at the plate. Cincinnati's offense is due to explode after scoring just 1 run in their final 2 games against the Cubs. They will definitely be locked in against Pirates starter Jameson Taillon, who nearly threw a no-hitter against them earlier this season. Even with that strong start, Tailon has a mere 4.23 ERA in 8 career starts against the Reds. He's also 0-2 with a 4.34 ERA and 1.607 WHIP in 4 road starts this season. Take Cincinnati!

I cashed in the Nationals on the Run Line in a 10-2 victory over the Padres yesterday. I’ll back them on the Run Line as today’s free pick once again for similar reasons. They came into this series motivated after getting swept by the Dodgers over the weekend.
The Nationals once again have a big advantage on the mound in this one. Jeremy Hellickson has been awesome for them, going 1-0 with a 2.20 ERA and 0.857 WHIP in six starts this season. He is 0-0 with a 1.64 ERA in two home starts, and 1-0 with a 0.52 ERA in his last three starts overall. One of those came against San Diego on May 8th as he pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings in a 4-0 Washington victory.
Eric Lauer has been crushed all season for the Padres. He is 1-2 with an 8.14 ERA and 2.095 WHIP in five starts this season. Lauer has been at his worst away from home, going 0-1 with a 9.23 ERA and 2.210 WHIP in three road starts.
San Diego is 9-27 in its last 36 games after having won three of its last four games coming in. It is losing in this spot by 2.5 runs per game on average. The Padres are 2-9 in their last 11 vs. NL East opponents. The Nationals are 10-2 in their last 12 games following a win. Bet the Nationals on the Run Line Tuesday.

Strictly a value play here. Lance Lynn just can't be this high of a favorite. He has been a disaster through his first eight starts with a 7.47 ERA and 2.04 WHIP. Minnesota is 2-6 in Lynn's eight outings. Matthew Boyd, on the other hand, has pitched well for Detroit turning in six quality appearances in his eight starts. He has a respectable 3.19 ERA and an excellent 1.06 WHIP.
Detroit has enjoyed success when playing in Minnesota winning 16 of the last 21 times there.
