I'm recommending a play on the Mariners at home against the Rangers on Tuesday. Seattle has been on an absolute tear of late. They come in having won 4 straight and are 9-1 in their last 10. They sit just 1-game back of the Astros in the AL West with an overall record of 33-20.
Texas is last in the division at 22-34 and have gone just 9-17 inside division play this season. I just don't see the Rangers being able to steal this one on the road. Texas will send out Austin Bibens-Dirkx, who made his 2018 debut last Thursday at home against the Royals. He gave up 6 runs on 8 hits in 6 1/3 against a pretty bad KC offense.
Seattle will send out veteran Felix Hernandez, who is a mere 5-4 with a not so great 5.58 ERA and 1.386 WHIP in 11 starts. However, Hernandez has been much better at home, where he's got a respectable 3.99 ERA and a strong 1.227 WHIP in 5 starts.
Mariners are 7-0 in their last 7 home games vs a team with a losing road record, 17-5 in their last 22 vs a right-handed starter and 5-0 in Hernandez's last 5 starts after the team lost in his previous start. Take Seattle!Comment
