The Yankees and Tigers hook up today in a day-night double header and the stark contrast in pitchers couldn't be any more different. In the first game, the Tigers go up against Luis Severino and will likely not get many pitches to hit. In Game 2, they will get to face Domingo German, who is 0-3 with a 5.45 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. German is coming off a poor start against the Astros where he gave up three earned runs on 5 hits. Bigger pitcher, German has given up 5 home runs in his last 3 games and 15 runs in his last 14 innings. The Tigers should be able to get their share of runs in against German, as the Tigers have scored 4 or more runs in their last five games, indulging six runs twice and 7 runs once. They were somewhat held in check yesterday, but still managed to put up 4 runs on the Jays. The Tigers are almost completely healthy, so that means a much more potent lineup. The Tigers are 6th in average and 5th in hits per game. Their opponent, the Yankees are among the best in the league in all offensive categories - 1st in runs (5.7), 5th in hits (8.9), 5th in average, 2nd in OBP, 1st in SLG, 1st in OPS and 1st in HR's with 90. They now get to tee off against Mike Fiers who has given up at least one home run in 6 of his last 7 games. Fiers did pitch well last time out against the Angels, but that was a very good spot for him. The Yankees present a much bigger challenge and Fiers is just 0-1 with a 6.20 ERA in four starts against the Yanks. The Over is 4-1 in the Yankees last 5 games vs a pitcher with a WHIP greater than 1.30 and 6-1 in their last 7 against on the road against a team with a losing record. The over has also hit in 4 of Fiers' last 6 starts.

When Italy and the Netherlands square-up in Turin this afternoon, it will be a reminder to soccer fans across the world to never take World Cup qualification for granted. Both teams are coming off disappointing WC qualification campaigns with the Italians suffering the worst of it. In this matchup, we expect the home team to get the better of their European counterparts for a few reasons. The first is Italy is finally calling up its best players. Manager Roberto Mancini is not a coach who likes comfort. He has called up players who can make a difference such as Mario Balotelli despite Balotelli missing the entire qualification campaign at the hands of the recently fired coach Gianluigi Ventura. Balotelli has already scored once since being recalled and the entire team has looked younger and more energized than the team that scuffled through 180 minutes of playoff football against Sweden. The Italians are unbeaten at home in their last 10 matches, having won 6 of those and drawing 4. The Netherlands are also in a rebuilding phase and have faired relatively well in their last 12 games, raking up 9 wins and just 2 losses. However, they have only beat the Italians once in their last 8 meetings dating back to 2000. This is the Dutch's second road match in four days, so we expect them to come out flat against an Italian team who needs to perform well in front of their home crowd in order to instill confidence within the supporters.

3-unit Play. #225838. Competition: International Friendly. Take Serbia -1/2 (Even) over Chile. (Monday @ 2:00 pm est) (For this to Win, Serbia must Win by 1 or more goals, Regulation + Injury time).
We have a World Cup team getting another preparation match against a side that qualified for the Confederations Cup by winning Copa America once again, but isn't making a return trip to Russia this summer squaring off. The first side, Serbia snapped a two-match winless run with a 2-0 win over Nigeria in their last match in March. Serbia are now 3-1-1 in their last five-matches and will have one more match against Bolivia prior to their first World Cup match against Costa Rica in June 17. Serbia are in a difficult group with Switzerland and Brazil rounding out Group E. In Friendlies Serbia 3-2-3 in their last eight-matches and 5-1-2 as the home team, but winless in their last two losing to Morocco in March 2-1. For the visitors, Chile have had success in South American competitions, but will not be in Russia this summer. Chile are winless in their last two-matches losing to Romania 3-2 after playing out a scoreless draw with Denmark. Over the last eight-matches, Chile are 2-5-1, in Friendlies they are 2-4-2, and 1-5-2 as the away team in Friendlies. This will be the second match between these two sides with the first ending in a 3-1 Serbian win in Chile.

I like Danny Duffy on the hill for LA who has had issues hitting the ball. I do not see LA having any big innings against southpaw Duffy out of the gate and Duffy is usually good through 6 innings. Taking the bullpen out of the mix here for KC and LA only hitting .208 as a team their last 5 games against left handers. Also, Tropeano toes the rubber for LA and he is a right hander that KC can hit and in 8 starts has given up 8 homers. He is 0-2 at home with a 5.31 ERA and opponents on the road are batting .341 as a team against him. KC should hang tight early on here.

Take Vegas on the moneyline as my 5-Unit NHL Smash for Monday night. This pick falls into one of my top NHL systems and this is a must win for Vegas to have a legit shot at winning the Stanley Cup. Fleury has not had a great game yet in this series so I expect him to show up tonight like he did against the Winnipeg Jets. Fleury has also had the Capitals number in the past so I can't see him having another off-game tonight. Vegas is 20-6 in their last 26 games after putting up 2 goals or less in their previous game and Vegas is16-5 in their last 21 games when playing a team with a winning record. The Capitals crashed the net last game to get Fleury off of his game and you can expect Vegas to do just that to Holtby tonight. Play Vegas ML.
