7-Unit Play. Take #305. Over 170 Las Vegas vs Dallas (Friday@ 8:00p.m. est).
The Las Vegas Aces have been playing better basketball of late and we believe we have a good pulse on this team. They only managed 78 points lat time out against the Liberty, but keep in mind the Liberty are defensive minded and pride their self on holding opponents to lower scores. Vegas is coming into tonight's game against Dallas looking to end their 4 game road trip with back-to-back wins. They have covered in each game and while they may have some tired legs, we believe they will want to continue to play well and put up better numbers than they did last time out where they shot just 3/12 from beyond the arc. The Dallas Wings come into tonight's game after a poor shooting display at home against Phoenix. The Wings managed just 72 points, but lost their best player for the season - who is more important on the defensive side of the court than the offensive side. Dallas still has plenty of scoring options and we expect them to take advantage of an Aces team who will just want to get home after a lengthy road trip. Dallas will also be looking to turn in a better shooting performance than last time out, as they connected on just 4/16 from behind the arc and hit just 36% from the floor overall. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 Vegas games following a straight up win and is 8-3 in the last 11 vs the Western Conference.
4-Unit Play. Take #907. Chicago Cubs -110 vs St. Louis (Friday@ 8:15p.m. est)
The Chicago Cubs will be hoping a change of scenery will solve all of their offensive problems. The Cubs were held without a run for back-to-back games while mustering just 8 hits total in those two games against the Brewers. Surely they can't be held scoreless for three-straight games. The Cubs should be able to right the ship against Michael Wacha - who, while pitching well this year, 8-1, 2.47 ERA, has struggled against the Cubs in his career, posting a 4-7 record with a 6.12 ERA. The Cubs send to the mound Jon Lester who is coming off a 2-0 win against Pittsburgh, allowing only one hit in seven innings while striking out five. Lester has been lights out over his last 6 games, tossing a 5-1 record with a 1.63 ERA and he hasn't permitted a run in his two starts in June. Lester is a veteran that's been around and we expect him to come through and pitch a gem when his team needs it the most - to stop a losing streak. The Cardinals on the other hand have been just as inconsistent - losing 3 of their last 4 games (one to the Reds and 2 to the Padres). Chicago is a much better team on paper then both of those squads, so we expect the Cubbies to get the job done tonight. The Cubs are 9-1 in Lester's last 10 starts against the NL Central and are 9-3 in their last 12 road games. The Cards are 0-5 in their last 5 against a lefty.
