KC has no chance here, Duffy for KC against Keuchel for Houston (despite his recent woes). Houston is on fire on offense, KC is batting .199 as a team their last 5 games, .177 as a team their last 10. Houston their last 10 games are hitting southpaws at .326 as team and Duffy and Keuchel squared off a few weeks ago in KC and Houston blasted KC on the road 10-2. More of the same, KC just pathetic right now and a total fade team, should get blown out here.

NOTE: This was yesterdays Top Play - game was cancelled. Same matchup but I lowered the Units because the dynamics have changed due to this being THE SECOND GAME OF A DOUBLE HEADER - THIS IS THE LATE GAME NOW.
Anytime I can fade the White Sox at this number with their starting pitcher Lucas Giolito on the hill., I will. A fade team yes, but also a fade pitcher on the hill, despite the fact the White Sox bullpen is actually very solid. Off a 12-0 waxing last night on the road, they face a hit Oakland team here tonight who swept them in a 3 games series in April and scored 30 runs in those 3 games in the process. The White Sox cannot score, have a starter with a 1-8 record against winning teams, and an ERA of 7.19 on the year, and now the White Sox bullpen is spread thin and in their last 5 have an ERA of over 7 in relief after leading the majors thru most of June with their ERA. Bassitt gets the nod for the A's, and while just his third start of the season his ERA is under 3 and against the White Sox , they simply cannot trade punches on the scoreboard.

I'm backing the Cubs with Quintana over Castillo on Friday. Chicago looks to bounce back from Thursday's loss and the Cubs have Jose Quintana going tonight and they have won three of his last four starts and he hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of those outings. Quintana has faced the Reds once this year and he shut them out on one hit in seven innings. The left-hander has pitched much better on the road where he has a 2.78 ERA compared to 6.00 at home. The Reds have a combined .213 batting average versus Quintana, who has a .187 opponent batting average in seven night games this season. Meanwhile, Luis Castillo is 4-8 with a 5.77 ERA and the Reds have lost his last four starts. Chicago has won 11 of its last 16 road games and 46 of the last 66 meetings with Cincinnati. The Cubs have won 16 of Quintana's last 23 starts dating to last season. We're getting a reasonable price in this matchup perhaps because the Reds are on a rare four-game winning streak.
