This match will decide who wins Group A as Russia and Uruguay both have won their first two matches. Uruguay has pieced together two 1-0 wins against Egypt and Saudi Arabia to extend their winning streak to five-matches. Four of Uruguay's last eight-matches have ended with a score line of 2 goals or more. For the host Russia, they have really been a surprise of the World Cup as they had not won a match since October 2017. However, Russia have scored 8 goals over two matches while only conceding 1 goal, this includes an opening match where the host scored 5 goals and a second match where they scored 3. Three of Russia's last five-matches have ended with a score line of 2 goals or more. This will be the second match between these two sides with the first ending in a 1-1 draw in May 2012. Russia has been scoring at will and Uruguay will want to win this match as the second place team is likely to play Spain.

At the end of the day this is a pride game for these bottom dweller teams and if they don't at the very least score some goals, their return home is not going to be a good one as if it's not already going to be a long flight back home. These two teams have nothing to lose at this point and will let it ride and will be aggressive on both ends as they just want goals at this point and we don't see this as a defensive battle but rather a very fast paced offensive battle that likely goes over the posted total with 2 teams who have nothing to lose at this point.

There is no doubt that Russia is one of the hottest teams at this tournament. They are motivated and strong and they have that huge home pitch advantage. Look, Russia and Uruguay have played the same two teams. Uruguay has looked like trash and barely scored 1-0 wins and Russia has dominated en route to an 8-0 aggregate. Russia can win this group with a win or a draw here and I think that they are going to be going full tilt. This team is not content with just advancing. They know that winning their group is quite an accomplishment and something they can hang their hats on. Again, Uruguay hasn't shown me anything. My 8-Unit Futures at the outset was on Uruguay to win this group. So this is a big of a hedge to take the edge off some of that loss if Russia does get a result. But if Uruguay does suddenly get it together and win this match then if you are holding that futures ticket it will cover this game. Even if you don't have that futures ticket, I still think Russia will result here. As I state, they have been the better side to this point in the tournament and at this price it is worth it just to back their momentum.

LA has won all 6 meetings from KC and they are 10-1 as a road favorite in this range. KC has lost 7 of 8 on Mondays, 25 of 33 vs winning teams and 17 of 20 in June. KC has Keller going but his numbers are not as strong as Skaggs for LA. Skaggs has won 6 of 8 on the road with a 2.27 Era. He has 2 starts spanning 14 innings vs KC and has not allowed a single run. Skaggs gets the go for LA after a scratch in his last start but he did some bullpen work over the weekend and is good to go. Only 3 times in 14 starts has Skaggs allowed more than 3 ER in a game and his road ERA is 2.27. Did I mention KC is weak at the plate? Brad Keller on the hill for KC, their one bright spot at pitching, Under a 3 ERA on the year and other than his last game at Houston, he has not allowed more than 2 runs a game all season. KC's bullpen 2.08 ERA their lastr 5 games to back him up.

Usually I like to have Gio Gonzales on the hill for me who starts for the Nats today, but his recent form is over a 7 ERA his last 3. Also, a HUGE KEY is Tampa who is off a sweep of the Yankees is hitting southpaws at .423 as a team the last 4 and also have Blake Snell on the hill for them who has a 0.96 ERA at home this year, backed by a bullpen whose ERA in their last 5 games is 1.85! Add in the fact in their last 6 Monday games Tampa is 6-0 and I like them here with a short number at home.
