STREAKING AND SLUMPING STARTING PITCHERS
Streaking: Trevor Bauer, Cleveland Indians (8-6, 2.45 ERA, $-323)
It's hard for pitchers like Bauer to be considered solid value plays, given that they're almost always pitching as an overwhelming favorite. But Bauer is doing his part to recoup his overall value for the season, with the Indians having won four of his previous six turns. Bauer has given up just nine total earned runs in those six starts and hasn't allowed a home run in seven straight outings.
Bauer is a massive -230 fave against the visiting Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, but is pitching well enough to warrant a look as either a run-line play (-115) or as part of a Cleveland Win/Under parlay (+163).
Slumping: Matthew Boyd, Detroit Tigers (4-7, 4.58 ERA, $199)
Boyd was in this space last week after losing three consecutive road starts and looking mostly awful in all three. Boyd's return to Comerica Park didn't fix things, as he was tagged for seven runs over four innings in a loss to the Texas Rangers. Boyd has allowed a whopping 20 runs over 17 innings in his last four starts, cutting a major swath out of his early-season profits.
Even at a tempting +149 against Tampa Bay counterpart Matt Andriese, Boyd is pitching far too poorly to be a trustworthy option.Comment

Team Betting Notes
-- Atlanta (9-9) picked up an impressive 76-70 victory against Phoenix (14-6) to get back to .500. After a 1-4-1 ATS run from June 12-27, the Dream is a solid 3-1 ATS over the past four outings. The 'over' is 4-1 across the past five contests, while going 6-2 over the past eight, too.
-- It has been very difficult trying to figure out Chicago (7-12) this season. They rattled off three straight victories from June 24-29, including wins against the Dream and Mercury. However, they nosedived in a three-game span from July 1-5 before surprising Minnesota (11-8) as an 8 1/2-point underdog with a straight-up win on July 7. The Sky are 5-2 ATS across the past seven after the win, but they're just 2-5 ATS in their past seven on the road.
-- It was another ugly week for Connecticut (10-9), as they dropped a pair of road games after surprising Los Angeles (12-8) on July 3. The Sun are 3-8 ATS over the past 11 outings, and they still haven't covered in back-to-back games since June 1-3.
-- Dallas (10-8) is on a season-high three-game winning streak after a perfect 3-0 SU/ATS week. The Wings have covered four in a row on the road, too, and they're 6-2 ATS in their past eight away games.
-- Indiana (2-17) won a stunner in Minnesota as a 14-point underdog, the largest upset of the season, winning for the few moneyline (+800) bettors who bravely banked on the Fever. It was their only cover across the past six, too.
-- The Sparks have been stumbling a lot lately, dropping a season-high three in a row. They're also 1-6 ATS over the past seven outings, too. While they have been a bit undependable lately against the spread, total bettors known L.A. is solid. The 'under' is 13-7 in their 20 games this season.
-- New York (5-14) enters the new week on a three-game swoon after an awful week. They posted a season-low 62 points in their home outing July 3 against Seattle (15-5), and they're also 0-3 ATS in the past three outings, too, while going 3-10 ATS over the past 13. The Liberty haven't had consecutive covers since a three-game streak May 25-June 2.
-- As mentioned above, the Mercury had their four-game win streak snapped July 8 in the ATL. They're still 4-1 SU/ATS over the past five outings. Under bettors have found Phoenix to be favorable, too, as the under is 4-1 in the past five, and 10-4 over the past 14.
-- The Storm have tied a season-high win streak, going 5-0 SU/4-0-1 ATS across the past five. They're also averaging 96.0 PPG over the past two, and it's no surprise that the over has hit in back-to-back games for Seattle as a result.
-- Washington (12-7) has lost consecutive games just once this season, a three-game losing skid from June 1-7. They're a solid 6-2 SU and 5-2-1 ATS across the past eight outings, too.Comment

I like the value here with the OVER in Tuesday's MLB action that has the Twins hosting the Royals. While the two teams combined for just 4 runs in the series opener on Monday, there were plenty of opportunities for both teams to push across more runs. KC left 7 runners on base and Minnesota stranded 12.
The Twins had scored at least 5 runs in each of their previous 4 games and I think we see them at least reach that mark in this one. The Royals will turn to Ian Kennedy, who is a mere 1-8 with a 5.11 ERA and 1.418 WHIP in 17 starts. Kennedy is also just 1-4 with a 5.48 ERA in 8 road starts.
Minnesota will turn to Aaron Slegers, who was great in his first start of 2018, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits in 6 innings at home against the Orioles. While it was a great outing, I don't see Slegers being able to continue to throw at that level. The guy had a 3.55 ERA in 14 starts at Triple A.
OVER is 5-1 in the Royals last 6 off a loss and 4-0 in their last 4 after scoring 2 runs or less. OVER is also 5-1 in the Twins last 6 off a win and 13-3-2 in the last 18 meetings between these two teams in Minnesota. Take the OVER!Comment

The Philadelphia Phillies are red hot right now. They are 7-2 in their last nine games overall to improve to 50-39 on the season and right in the thick of the NL East race. The Mets are just 19-43 in their last 62 games overall and we’ll gladly fade them at this even money value basically.
Enyel De Los Santos makes his major league debut for the Phillies tonight. The 23-year-old has earned it, going 9-3 with a 1.89 ERA in 16 starts for Triple-A Lehigh Valley. He was supposed to start in the International League All-Star Game on Wednesday, but he would much rather make his MLB debut and try and help the Phillies get a win tonight.
Drew Gagnon will also be making his MLB debut for the Mets tonight. However, Gagnon hasn’t really earned his promotion considering he has gone just 1-4 with a 4.67 ERA in 17 starts for Triple-A Las Vegas. I certainly trust the work that De Los Santos has done in the minors more than Gagnon. Bet the Phillies Tuesday.Comment
