7-Unit Play. Take #363. Under 53.5 Toronto vs Winnipeg (Friday @ 8:30pm est) (You can find 54 at CG Tech and Stations)
The Toronto Argonauts have series QB issues to figure out. When Ricky Ray went down with injury, James Franklin took over and optimism was high within the camp. Unfortunately, not much good has happened. Franklin played poorly in last week's loss to the Bombers, completing just 58% of his 36 passing attempts for just 151 yards. He also failed to throw a touchdown pass, but did turn the ball over once via interception. That was at home. Now, the Argos must take their stagnant offense on the road to a place where they have struggled mightily over the last handful of seasons. The Argos are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings against the Bombers and are just 1-3-1 in their last 5 meetings in Winnipeg. If the Argos can't get their passing attack working, Winnipeg should be able to focus on James Wilder Jr. in the backfield and should be able to contain him once again (3 rushes for -2 yards, and 6 catches for 42 yards last week). Winnipeg has been a difficult team to figure out so far this season. They are 3-1 ATS when closing as favorites and 2-0 ATS when playing at home. We expect the Bombers to get the job done tonight but we are expecting a very low scoring game. The Argos can't move the ball or score and the bombers have alternated high production with futility. Not to mention, playing a team twice in 6 days generally favours the defense. The under is 6-1 in the Argos last 7 games overall and 5-2 in the Bombers last 7 following an SU win. So, you have a Toronto team that usually bounces back after a poor defensive performance and they are coming off a horrible defensive performance against Winnipeg and you have a Winnipeg team that does well as a dog and a small favorite, but is a bit notorious for let down as a heavy favorite and favorite in general except for last week - look for them to have an offensive let down too. Therefore, look for this game to likely go under the posted total this Friday Evening.
