For Tuesday, Top-Rated 1000♦ is the Pittsburgh Pirates with Taillon -1 1/2 runs over the Kansas City Royals with Skoglund. At 7:15 am eastern time, the Pirates are -1 1/2 runs, +100 in Vegas and offshore. Both pitchers must start, or there is no action on this release.
This one is all about Jameson Taillon, and the way he is throwing the baseball here to end the regular season. Taillon just won his 4th straight start his last time out, as he held the Cardinals to just 2 runs in his 7 innings pitched. That win puts him at 7-2 with a 2.49 ERA since the All-Star Break. He has worked his last 19 starts without allowing more than 3 runs to score, so you can pretty much assume Kansas City is not posting many crooked-digits on the PNC Park scoreboard tonight.
The Pirates have won their last 3 games after last night's 7-6 win over the Royals, and they have also won 13 of 18 games this year against the American League too!
Eric Skoglund is just 1-5 for the year with an ERA over 6, and his team is a lowly 8-21 their last 29 interleague contests.
