Two solid pitchers are on the mound tonight. Max Scherzer is one of the best pitchers in baseball. But he is coming off his worst start of the season, giving up six runs in just four innings in Atlanta. I think he will bounce back with a strong start here tonight. Scherzer has seven straight quality starts at home and he has a 2.53 ERA on the season. Scherzer has 277 strikeouts to just 49 walks this season and he should be able to have a big day against the No. 29 team batting average lineup in MLB. The Mets are going with Jason Vargas and the veteran has been much better in the second half of the season. The 'under' is 5-1 in his last six divisional starts and the 'under' is 7-1 in New York's last eight games overall. Play the 'under' here.

Take Cleveland ATS as my 7-Unit NFL Smash for Thursday night. This pick falls into one of my elite NFL systems and I have the Browns winning this game by 10 to 13 points at home tonight. I was very impressed with the Browns last week who had to play an angry Saints defense that was embarrassed by the Bucs in week 1. The Browns also held a very potent Saints offense to just 21 points, 213 passing yards and 62 rushing yards which is remarkable. The Jets have a big problem with turnovers, turning the ball over 5 times already this season. The Browns have played two very good teams this season while the Jet have not and it will show in this game tonight as the Browns get their offense rolling. The Jets are just 1-6 SU in their last 7 games off a loss against a divisional rival and just 8-20 SU in their last 28 games as an underdog. Play Cleveland ATS as we move to 6-0 in the NFL and 12-1 my last 13 top plays rated 5-Units or higher.
