7-Unit Play. Take #002 Toronto -1.5 +110 over Montreal (Wednesday, October 3rd at 7:00 PM ET)
Take Toronto on the puckline as my 7-Unit NHL Smash for Wednesday night. This pick falls into one of my top NHL systems and I have the Leafs winning this game by 3+ goals to open the season at home Wednesday night. The Leafs will have one of the most potent offensive attacks in the NHL this season and coach Babcock will have hit team ready to go from the start tonight. This is a Leaf team that expects to make it deep in the Playoffs this season, and they face a really bad Canadiens team that I feel did not get any better in the off-season. They are also without their Captain Shea Weber who had knee surgery and won't be expected back until December at the earliest. The Leafs are much better at every part of the game than the Canadiens and the Canadiens were just 11-30 on the road last season averaging just 2.3 gpg. Opponents converting 33.3% of their powerplays against Montreal on the road last season and that number might very well increase this season. The Leafs were one of the most dominant home teams in the NHL last season and now they have gotten even better this season. The Leafs are 4-0 in their last 4 games against the Canadiens and they outscored the Canadiens 14-2 over their last 3 games played against them last season. We have two teams moving in opposite directions and I expect a blowout by the Leafs to open the season as their top 3 lines have been working very well together during practice and in the preseason games. Play Toronto on the Puckline -1.5.

Rotation #939-940
A’s/Yankees Over 8.5 runs
Hendriks/Severino
Tonight we will see an Aussie start for the first time ever in a postseason game.* Liam Hendriks is a relief pitcher who will start tonight so right off the bat the Yankees have the edge, but I do think the A’s are the better team and on the road they have more power than any team in the league.* Yankee Stadium always seems to bring magic to the Yankees, but it’s the A’s this season that have that late inning magic with so many great comebacks.* This game should go over the total early, but I believe late in this game is where it becomes a classic.* Look for both teams to plate enough runs to make this high scoring.**Take the Over.
