    Delaware Park - Race #3 - Post: 2:15pm - Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $12,000 Class Rating: 85

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

    #2 HIGH FREQUENCY (ML=8/1)
    #7 VIRTUE AND VICE (ML=3/1)

HIGH FREQUENCY - Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone front runner facing sluggish sorts today. Carrying 5 pounds less this race. Trainer has him in a good spot. VIRTUE AND VICE - This gelding is in top physical condition right now. Ran fourth last out and comes back promptly.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 BEN OF THE BRIDGE (ML=2/1), #3 PERP (ML=4/1), #6 NAN THE MAN (ML=6/1),

NAN THE MAN - This sustainer looks to have almost no chance without a speed battle at the front. This racer ran a disappointing speed rating in the last race. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will likely get beat in today's race running that number.

    STRAIGHT WAGERS:
#2 HIGH FREQUENCY is going to be the play if we are getting 5/2 or better

        Mountaineer Park - Race #7 - Post: 9:12pm - Starter Allowance - 2.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $15,900 Class Rating: 92

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

        #5 BEBOPALEON (ML=6/1)
        #8 THISDUCKCANFLY (ML=6/1)

BEBOPALEON - This gelding is in first-rate physical condition right now. Ended up first last out and comes back rapidly. This gelding registered a strong speed rating of 96 in his last clash. That speed rating should be high enough to score today. THISDUCKCANFLY - This front running sort should benefit from this race's shorter distance. Trainer Baird gave this gelding a nice long work. That's a really good sign.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 CUTTIN EDGE TECH (ML=6/5), #10 SCARLET EMERALD (ML=5/1), #4 ROMAN OFFICER (ML=6/1),

CUTTIN EDGE TECH - The lack of morning activity has to make one concerned despite the good performance in the last event. SCARLET EMERALD - Don't believe this mount will do much running in today's race. That last rating was somewhat easily forgotten when compared with today's class rating. ROMAN OFFICER - I foretell disappointment for this horse in this race.

        STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Bet on #5 BEBOPALEON to win if you can get at least 3/2 odds

          # 3 OZARK DAREDEVIL (T) 2/1

          # 6 C J TERROR (T) 3/1

          # 4 MEGATRON RULER (T) 3/1

I give my vote to OZARK DAREDEVIL (T) here. Looks competitive for the conditions of this contest today, showing solid figures in longer quarter horse races recently. He has been racing very well lately while recording strong Speed Figures. Very good try today with second time Lasix. C J TERROR (T) - Should be given a shot here on the basis of the numbers in the speed section alone. Has to be carefully examined based on the strong speed figure garnered in the last outing. MEGATRON RULER (T) - Gamblers ought to take a good look at this one as this gelding has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this group of animals. Ran a strong last race.

            # 11 QUEEN FANTABULOUS 15/1

            # 3 ANISSA 6/1

BEACH TAG looks very good to best this group of horses in this race and could score at a price in here. QUEEN FANTABULOUS - Martin has this filly running well and is a competitive pick based on the respectable Equibase Speed Figures recorded in sprint races lately. Her 61 average has this filly with among the most competitive Equibase Speed Figures for this race. ANISSA - Has performed well recently in sprint races, posting a nifty 62 avg speed figure. This mare looks good in this race since Lake has a strong win percentage with horses going this distance.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Green Bay Packers Preview and Predictions 10-15-2018 in NFL

NFL Previews 12th October 2018 by Gracenote
49ers vs. Packers Preview and Predictions

                by Gracenote on 10/12/2018

The Green Bay Packers have stumbled badly in both of their road games, but they will be hoping the home crowd will help provide an offensive spark when they host the struggling San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. Slow starts continue to plague the Packers, who fell into a 24-point hole on the road against NFC North rival Detroit last week en route to a 31-23 defeat.

Green Bay also trailed by 18 points at halftime in a loss at Washington in Week 3 and was down 17 points at the break versus Chicago in the season opener before Aaron Rodgers led a stirring comeback in the fourth quarter. "I feel like if we can get off to a better start on offense, it makes the entire squad play with a different type of confidence," Rodgers told reporters. "We need to lead from the front as an offense and as a team, and give our defense an opportunity to pin their ears back and get after the quarterback and make them a little more one-dimensional." That could happen against San Francisco, which already has lost starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and No. 1 running back Jerick McKinnon and could be missing current top rusher Matt Breida for the prime-time clash. "I know we've been through some adversity," 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters. "It's never easy. It definitely gets harder when you do have injuries and things like that. But we have people in here who can win games."

                TV: 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN. LINE: Packers -9.5. O/U: 46.5

ABOUT THE 49ERS (1-4): Shanahan noted that eight of the team's 11 offensive players did not practice Wednesday and, while he did not officially rule out Breida, veteran Alfred Morris is expected to receive a heavy workload in the backfield. C.J. Beathard has thrown for two touchdowns and two interceptions in each of his first two starts but could get a boost with wide receiver Marquise Goodwin expected to return to the lineup. Goodwin has been limited to parts of three games but would represent another key target to go along with tight end George Kittle, who has a team-leading 33 receptions. San Francisco is 10th overall in defense but is allowing 29.2 points per game.

ABOUT THE PACKERS (2-2-1): Rodgers sat out Thursday's practice for what he termed a "setback" in his knee, which he originally hurt in Green Bay's season opener against Chicago. The injury notwithstanding, Rodgers has thrown for 10 touchdowns against only one interception and is coming off a season-best 442-yard performance at Detroit despite the absences of wide receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison, who both were limited in practice this week. Davante Adams made nine catches for 140 yards and a touchdown versus the Lions, giving him 37 receptions and four scores on the season. The Packers rank fourth overall in total defense and are No. 2 against the pass (208.8 yards per game).

                EXTRA POINTS

                1. Rodgers is 8-0-1 in his last nine home starts, throwing 22 TD passes and three interceptions.

                2. San Francisco has registered a league-best 48 wins on Monday Night Football, including nine in a row.

                3. Packers LB Clay Matthews has recorded 4.5 sacks in his last three games versus the 49ers.

                PREDICTION: Packers 27, 49ers 16

Brewers vs. Dodgers Preview and Predictions

                  by Gracenote on 10/14/2018

Justin Turner's 180-degree spin from Game 1 goat to Game 2 hero gave the Los Angeles Dodgers homefield advantage in the National League Championship Series, but the Milwaukee Brewers aren't panicking. The Dodgers will try to ride the momentum from their Game 2 win and take a lead in the best-of-seven series when they host Game 3 on Monday.

Turner went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts during a 6-5 loss in Game 1 but connected for a go-ahead, two-run homer to provide the winning margin in Saturday's 4-3 victory that evened the series. "It takes a special athlete to have a night like he had (Friday) and to show up the next day in a big spot and want to have the bat in your hand," Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts told reporters. "And Justin is that guy, and those are hard to come by." The loss was a crushing blow to the Brewers, who watched their seemingly-invincible bullpen crack a bit in each of the first two contests. "I think one of the things we've told you is that our guys are all important, and the way we're going to use our pitching is that we gotta count on all these guys," Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell told reporters. "For me, (right-hander Jeremy Jeffress, who surrendered the homer to Turner) made one bad pitch today, and it cost him, and it was to a very good hitter."

                  TV: 7:39 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1

PITCHING MATCHUP: Brewers RH Jhoulys Chacin (1-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Dodgers RH Walker Buehler (0-0, 9.00)

Chacin breezed through five scoreless frames while scattering three hits against Colorado to win his lone NL Division Series start but could still be on a short lease Monday with a well-rested bullpen behind him. "I'm just trying to give my team the most innings I can," Chacin told reporters. "Whenever Counsell wants to take you out, you just have to give the ball to the bullpen, especially with the bullpen that we have." Chacin suffered through his worst start of the season at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 2, when he was ripped for nine runs - eight earned - on five hits and four walks over 4 1/3 innings.

Buehler allowed five runs on two hits and three walks at Atlanta during the NLDS, coming apart during a rough second inning before battling his way through five frames. The 24-year-old lost his lone start against Milwaukee in the regular season despite allowing one run over seven innings and is much more comfortable at home. Buehler went 4-3 with a 1.93 ERA and 84 strikeouts across 74 2/3 innings at Dodger Stadium in 2018.

                  WALK-OFFS

                  1. Los Angeles RF Yasiel Puig is 0-for-5 in the series and 3-for-14 without an RBI in the postseason.

                  2. Brewers pitchers are 3-for-4 with a home run in the series.

                  3. Milwaukee went 2-2 in four games at Dodger Stadium during the regular season, including a 21-5 loss.

                  PREDICTION: Dodgers 5, Brewers 2

Stars vs. Senators Preview and Predictions

                    by Gracenote on 10/14/2018

The Dallas Stars would like to bottle their effort from a dominant second period last time out and use it throughout the rest of the season, beginning with a road contest against the Ottawa Senators on Monday. The Stars registered 30 shots in the middle session Saturday to erase a three-goal deficit and went on to defeat Anaheim 5-3 for their third victory in four games to open the campaign.

"It was a character win," first-year Dallas coach Jim Montgomery told reporters. "It shows they are playing hard for each other. I just loved how hard they came back. That building was rocking in the second (period)." The Stars, who are 6-for-11 on the power play, hope to snap a four-game losing streak against the Senators after dropping a pair of overtime contests last season. Ottawa also produced a strong effort on Saturday as it rolled to a 5-1 victory over Los Angeles, giving the team most analysts expect to be the worst in the league this season points in three of its first five games. "Everybody made their mark on the game," Senators coach Guy Boucher told reporters after Saturday's win. "There were blocked shots, intelligent plays at the right moment, good plays without the puck. Our goaltender was solid, so it was a real nice team victory."

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, FS Southwest (Dallas), TSN5, RDS2 (Ottawa)

ABOUT THE STARS (3-1-0): Alexander Radulov is the fourth player in franchise history to score at least one goal in four straight games to start the season, joining Mike Modano, Dino Ciccarelli and Tim Young. Radulov is second on the team with nine points, one behind Tyler Seguin (three goals, seven assists), with captain Jamie Benn (four goals) right behind him with eight and defenseman John Klingberg (three goals) recording five. Blue-liner Connor Carrick, who was acquired from Toronto for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in the preseason, has made a favorable impression with a goal and three assists.

ABOUT THE SENATORS (2-2-1): Rookie Brady Tkachuk, the fourth overall pick in last June's draft, has registered two goals and three assists in his first three NHL games after missing two due to injury. Ottawa has gotten plenty of production from its defense as Thomas Chabot leads the team with eight points while rookie Maxime Lajoie has collected three goals and three assists. Ottawa, which is 5-for-16 on the power play, likely will be without Alex Formenton (concussion), Ryan Dzingel (lower body) and defenseman Cody Ceci (upper body).

                    OVERTIME

                    1. Senators C Chris Tierney, who was acquired from San Jose in the trade involving Erik Karlsson, is second on the team with seven points.

                    2. Dallas G Ben Bishop, who was rested on Saturday in favor of backup Anton Khudobin, is 9-0-4 with a .932 save percentage against Ottawa in his career.

                    3. Ottawa D Chris Wideman, who missed most of last season with a torn hamstring, scored his first two goals since October 14, 2017 on Saturday.

                    PREDICTION: Stars 5, Senators 2

Detroit Red Wings vs. Montreal Canadiens Preview and Predictions 10-15-2018 in NHL

                      by Gracenote on 10/14/2018

The Detroit Red Wings are still seeking their first victory of the season after an embarrassing performance last time out and hope to begin turning things around Monday, when they visit the improving Montreal Canadiens. The Red Wings, who began a tough four-game road trip with an 8-2 loss at Boston, are last in the league in goals allowed (4.40) due in part to an injury-depleted defense.

"We regressed," Detroit coach Jeff Blashill told reporters after the setback. "That game (on Saturday) is not even close to good enough in any stretch. That was a bad effort. Bad execution, bad effort, unacceptable. We better find a way to dig in and get better." The Red Wings also visit Tampa Bay and Florida on their trip, but first they face a Montreal team that trounced them 10-1 in December and scored a total of 24 goals in four wins during the 2017-18 season series. The Canadiens, who missed the playoffs for the second time in three campaigns last season, have earned points in three of their first four games - with both of their wins coming against a high-powered Pittsburgh team. Montreal rallied from a two-goal deficit with three straight tallies and went on to post a 4-3 shootout win Saturday against the Penguins without Carey Price, who could return to try and improve upon his 13-4-1 lifetime record versus Detroit after missing the contest with the flu.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, FS Detroit, TSN2, RDS (Montreal)

ABOUT THE RED WINGS (0-3-2): Detroit will be without Mike Green (virus) until next month and three other defensemen - Jonathan Ericsson, Danny DeKeyser and Trevor Daley - are questionable for Monday with upper-body injuries while rookie Dennis Cholowski (upper body) could return after missing two games. The Red Wings still are waiting for Thomas Vanek and Justin Abdelkader to record their first point of the season while Gustav Nyquist (four assists) owns a minus-8 rating. Dylan Larkin leads the team with three goals and five points while defenseman Nick Jensen has scored twice.

ABOUT THE CANADIENS (2-1-1): Tomas Tatar, who scored 115 goals while spending most of his first seven NHL seasons with the Red Wings, scored two goals and set up another in Saturday's victory to tie for the team lead with four points. Paul Byron and defenseman Jeff Petry share the top spot with Tatar while tenacious right wing Brendan Gallagher has recorded two goals and a plus-3 rating. Tomas Plekanec registered four shots and a minus-1 rating in 8 minutes, 44 seconds of ice time during his season debut on Saturday, leaving him one game shy of 1,000 for his career.

                      OVERTIME

                      1. Canadiens 18-year-old rookie C Jesperi Kotkaniemi has recorded one assist and a plus-2 rating in his first four NHL games.

                      2. Detroit G Jimmy Howard, who was rested on Saturday, is 4-7-2 with an .871 save percentage against Montreal in his career.

                      3. Montreal is just 2-for-17 on the power play in the early going, with the goals coming from Tatar and RW Andrew Shaw.

PREDICTION: Canadiens 5, Red Wings 2

Kings vs. Maple Leafs Preview and Predictions

                        by Gracenote on 10/14/2018

The Toronto Maple Leafs and their high-powered offense attempt to extend their winning streak to five contests when they begin a three-game homestand Monday against the Los Angeles Kings. Toronto has recorded 23 goals on its string of victories while league leader Auston Matthews (10) has registered four two-goal performances during his season-opening six-game streak.

The 21-year-old Matthews has notched at least two points in each contest this season and leads the NHL with 14 while defenseman Morgan Rielly (13), John Tavares (10) and Mitch Marner (10) also rank in the top eight in scoring. Matthews and Kasperi Kapanen each recorded a goal and an assist on Saturday as the Maple Leafs skated to a 4-2 road triumph over defending Stanley Cup champion Washington. Los Angeles is looking to break even on its four-game road trip after falling to 1-2-0 with Saturday's 5-1 setback in Ottawa. Trevor Lewis tallied in the defeat for the Kings, who have produced only five goals over the first three games of their trek.

TV: 7:30 p.m. ET, FS West (Los Angeles), Sportsnet Ontario (Toronto)

ABOUT THE KINGS (2-2-1): Alex Iafallo shares the team lead in both points (four) and goals (two) but has been kept off the scoresheet in each of his last two games. The 24-year-old left wing recorded only nine tallies in 75 contests as a rookie last season. Captain Anze Kopitar also has tallied twice this campaign and is eight goals away from 300 for his career.

ABOUT THE MAPLE LEAFS (5-1-0): With his effort on Saturday, Matthews joined Sweeney Schriner (1944-45) as the only players in franchise history to both score a goal and notch multiple points in each of the team's first six games of a season. "It feels good to help contribute," Matthews told reporters. "The most important part is, we're winning games." Rielly has recorded a point in each of Toronto's six contests, which is the longest streak to start a campaign by a defenseman in franchise history.

                        OVERTIME

                        1. Since 1943-44, Matthews is the first player to score at least 10 goals in his team's first six games since Mario Lemieux accomplished the feat in 1988-89.

                        2. Los Angeles is one of only three teams yet to score on the power play, going 0-for-18 with the man advantage over its first five games.

                        3. Rielly joined Harry Cameron (15) of the 1917-18 Toronto Arenas and Paul Reinhart (14) of the 1989-90 Vancouver Canucks as the only Ds in NHL history to collect at least 13 points in his team's first six contests.

PREDICTION: Maple Leafs 5, Kings 2

The Nashville Predators aim to conclude their four-game homestand with a third straight victory when they host the Central Division-rival Minnesota Wild on Monday. Nashville was blanked by Calgary in the opener of the string of contests at Bridgestone Arena before totaling eight goals in triumphs over Winnipeg and the New York Islanders.

Filip Forsberg scored twice while Viktor Arvidsson recorded a goal and an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Islanders as the Predators swept the season series after posting a 4-3 victory in New York on Oct. 6. Minnesota is coming off a three-game homestand on which every contest went beyond regulation, including Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to Carolina. The Wild have picked it up offensively, scoring four goals in each of its last two contests after recording just one in each of their first two games. Jason Zucker, who is the only member of the Wild with more than one tally, netted his third of the season and the 100th of his career on Saturday.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, FS North, FS Wisconsin (Minnesota), FS Tennessee (Nashville)

ABOUT THE WILD (1-1-2): Zach Parise has notched a pair of assists in each of his last two contests, giving him a team-high five points. The 34-year-old native of Minneapolis is two power-play goals shy of 100 for his career and 10 points away from 700 in the NHL. Joel Eriksson Ek will miss his second consecutive game with a upper-body injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for a week.

ABOUT THE PREDATORS (4-1-0): Dan Hamhuis notched an assist on Saturday for the first point of his second tenure with the franchise. The 35-year-old defenseman, who signed a two-year contract as a free agent in July, was drafted 12th overall by Nashville in 2001 and spent the first six seasons of his career with the team but joined Vancouver via free agency on July 1, 2010 after his negotiating rights were traded twice in late June. Ryan Hartman has collected four points in his first five games of 2018-19 after notching six in 21 contests after being acquired from Chicago last season.

                          OVERTIME

                          1. Zucker has scored one of the Wild's two power-play goals this season as well as their only game-winner.

                          2. Nashville D P.K. Subban needs 10 goals to reach 100 for his career, 10 assists to hit 300 and 20 points to get to 400.

                          3. Minnesota went 3-1-1 versus the Predators last season but failed to notch a victory in Nashville.

                          PREDICTION: Predators 3, Wild 0
