Red Sox -150 over Dodgers
Sale/Kershaw
The Red Sox have been brilliant this year at home where they put up a ton of runs. The Red Sox bats have been very active this postseason as well. The Dodgers have just been getting by, but don’t think they can’t win this series. This is going to be one hell of a series the next week or so. Chris Sale has been spectacular this year as he has been a strike out machine. Kershaw is always a question mark just like David Price in the postseason. The Red Sox have the advantage tonight. Take Boston.
Excellent day yesterday going 4-1.
I’m playing all three sides today and 1 unit on an under.
LA Clippers +7(3 Units)
The Pelicans have steamrolled their first two opponents by an average of 20 points and have averaged 140 points. However, they played the Kings and the Rockets. Two of the worst defenses in the league. The Clippers have a very good defense and I feel like they can slow down the Pelicans and keep this game close enough to cover.
Clippers/Pelicans UNDER 238.5(1 Unit)
As stated above, I expect the Clippers to slow this game down quite a bit and try to keep the Pelicans from playing
at their usual pace. This number is astronomically high for a defensive team like the Clippers.
Their first three games have averaged only 204.6 points total.
This total is 34 points higher then their per game average.
Detroit Pistons -1(3 Units)
Ben Simmons is out today for the Sixers. It’s a big task to expect the Sixers to go beat a good home team like the Pistons
on the road without one of their stars. The Sixers only beat two bad teams at home this year so I am not a believer yet.
Sacramento Kings +12(3 Units)
The Kings have a good offense and have no problems scoring the basketball.
They are weak on defense but the Nuggets play at a pace that is favorable to the Kings.
The Nuggets are very good but not quite good enough to be laying 12 points to an ambitious Kings team.
This could be a let down spot for the Nuggets after a big win against the Warriors.
**PREFERRED - Denver* over Sacramento by 20 The Kings scored 131 points in their last game. What went up needs to come down. The Nuggets just beat the Warriors, so they obviously can defend against superior offense, and score against defense better than anything the Kings can play. Marvin Bagley III, Harry Giles on Sacramento, eh? Kids. Duke kids, unseasoned, didn’t play more than a season in college. Inexperienced. Young and erratic. Thin air and all that. DENVER, 128-108.
LA DODGERS (Kershaw) +130 over BOSTON (Sale)
The Red Sox dispatched the Yankees & Astros with little difficulty, but both of those teams won a game at Fenway Park, and we look for the Dodgers to grab a victory in tonight’s series opener. Clayton Kershaw is looking very sharp in the post-season, following a solid showing in 26 regular season outings (2.73 ERA), and he’s backed by an offense that averages 5.2 runs per
game on the road vs. lefthanders. Chris Sale has been banged up at times, so how long he’ll last tonight is not clear. Under the circumstances, it’s hard to pass up the Dodgers & Kershaw as underdogs.
4-Unit Play: Take 901 Dodgers +130 over Red Sox (8:05 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23)I'm backing the underdog Dodgers in game 1 on Tuesday with Kershaw over Sale. Despite Kershaw making his Fenway debut, I have these two starting pitchers rated nearly even...Sale might be slightly better at this point as long as he's healthy and we believe he is. But it's just about everywhere else where the Dodgers have the advantage. They even have 3 or 4 options for the DH when playing in the AL park. Simply look at the players the Dodgers left off the championship roster and you'll see how strong this squad is. Both teams hit lefties well in the situation they're in. Boston averages over 5 rpg against southpaws while the Dodgers plate over 5 rpg on the road against lefties. Tonight, we trust the Dodger bullpen more than Boston's. Craig Kimbrel looked shot in the ALCS whether he was tipping his pitches or not. Whether the starters last deep into the game or not, we give the edge in game 1 to the underdog. We're backing the Dodgers on Tuesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
