LOB CITY - In this race here, this thoroughbred has clearly shown signs that she likes the grass. Her speed ratings are the highest in the field for this distance and surface. Haar's agent must relish anytime Pearson gives them a mount; win percent together is fantastic. A definite class advantage goes to this horse. That's a good sign she will be very competitive in this turf race. CLEVERLY BEVERLY - This thoroughbred coming off a strong performance in the last month is a win candidate in my book. Last affair at Turf Paradise on Nov 10th was a big class drop for this equine. Facing similar foes right here. She should do well in today's event. FRUITY (IRE) - This mare is in nice form. Ran second on Nov 3rd. Have to watch for this animal on the turf. Last race at Turf Paradise, scored a big turf number. Have to think she can do it again right here. Last out, ran the last quarter in less than 25 ticks. That indicates to me she can close well, and should be right there at the end today.
Vulnerable Contenders: #6 LYLA LORRAINE (ML=5/1), #4 BEENTOSPAIN (ML=6/1), #11 DONTTELLMYHUSBAND (ML=6/1),
LYLA LORRAINE - Tough to take this vulnerable equine at the odds after the result (fourth) in the last race. This mount ran a most unsatisfactory speed figure last time out. She shouldn't improve and will probably lose in today's event running that figure. BEENTOSPAIN - Didn't come through as the public's choice in back to back races. Probably won't gain a score today either. If you keep playing these kind of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be frustrated regularly. Will be hard for this thoroughbred to beat this field off of that last speed figure. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's Equibase class figure, so put her on the likely underpriced contenders list. DONTTELLMYHUSBAND - I'd like to see better recent showings with morning line of 6/1.
