Chip's FREE NBA Winner
Washington at New York- A pair of bottom feeders meet at Madison Square Garden where the rejuvenated New York Knicks led by their perennial youth movement as they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. (But, Chip's can do that for you when you get his NBA 3-Pack of Best Bet winners). Although, Washington is 7-1 ATS in their last eight trips to New York they are just a shell of what they once were and could have been Take the KNICKS!
Rutgers may have gone 15-19 but there has been sizeable improvement in Steve Pikiell’s two seasons. The Scarlet Knight’s finished with a #28 defense efficiency and also played a slow tempo (#281). This season their D efficiency is #19 and they are allowing 59.6 PPG with a #255 tempo. Wisconsin has the #19 D and continues to play slow as well. Look for this game to stay UNDER THE TOTAL as your Monday College hoops comp.
Your Monday comp play is the Over in tonight's Redskins-Eagles meeting.
I know that Philly has been trending Under the total this season, as the Eagles have played their last pair of games and 4 of their last 5 overall this year Under the total, but the trend when Philadelphia takes on Washington has been to look for the points to add up.
4 of the last 5 in this NFC East series have landed Over the total, as have 6 of the last 8 overall in the rivalry. Each of the last 4 series games played at Lincoln Financial Field have all played Over the total as well.
Washington has not played since their Thanksgiving Day loss in Dallas, and while that game was just 10-7 at the half, the points did add up to a combined 54 total in a game that landed Over the total. Colt McCoy was a little rusty, as he did throw 3 interceptions in the contest, and a pick or two again here tonight could lead to some quick and easy points being put up on the scoreboard.
The Redskins have played Over the total in their last pair of games, and in 3 of their last 4 overall.
It should also be pointed out that this Monday night spotlight game has been trending towards the offense, as we enter play this December 3rd with each of the last 4 Monday night games having landed Over the total.
Let's look for the Redskins and the Eagles to push their way Over the total, as the Monday night run hits 5 in a row Over, and the series run between the teams also hits 5 in a row in Philadelphia.
Monday night comp play winner on the Eagles at home over the Redskins in a key NFC East meeting at Lincoln Financial Field.
Philadelphia had a season-saving comeback win last week at home over the New York Giants, as kicker Jake Elliott connected from 43 yards away with 22 seconds remaining to seal the Eagles 25-22 victory. Philly trailed 19-3 in that one, and while they did not cover - just 3-8 against the spread for the season! - they did give themselves a huge shot of confidence that will serve them well when they hit the field tonight.
Washington was 5-2 at one point this year, but the Redskins have dropped to 6-5 with their current 1-3 slide, as the 'Skins have lost their starting quarterback, and they have taken multiple hits on their offensive line. The good news is, running back Chris Thompson should be back to help the stalled running game. The bad news is, the Eagles defensive line remains stingy, and they are at home for the second week in a row.
Philadelphia swept the season series last year, winning and covering both, as they won both by double-digits.
The Eagles have an excellent opportunity to get back in the thick of things in the NFC East, as next week they do have a road game at division-leading Dallas. First things first, and that would be to take care of business tonight against the team that is right in front of them in the division standings.
I do not trust Colt McCoy enough in this tough road spot to deliver. He did have 3 picks in Washington's last loss at Dallas, and a costly turnover tonight could well swing the balance.
I am going with Philadelphia to close the sale as the home favorite tonight.
Going to play this Redskins-Eagles key NFC East Division clash to land Over the total when it is all said and done.
Colt McCoy has had a little extra time to get settled in as the Washington starter now for the remainder of the year, as Washington last played on Thanksgiving in a 31-23 loss at Dallas. That game looked like a sure Under in the early stages, as it was just 10-7 at the break, but by the end of the contest, McCoy had 3 interceptions and the game saw a combined 54 points and an Over.
The Redskins have now played their last pair of games, and 3 of their last 4 overall Over the total.
True, the Eagles have played their last pair of games Under the total, and the Under is a dominant 4-1 their last 5 games overall, but I get the feeling that after coming back from 19-3 down last week at home against the Giants is going to springboard Philly and their listless offense into a few more points for this prime time home affair against the 'Skins.
This series has been offensive of late, as 6 of the last 8 played between the teams have landed Over the total. Included is each of the last 4 series meetings played at Lincoln Financial Field.
Also keep in mind that each of the last 4 games played under the Monday night lights this season have all made their way Over the posted total.
A lot on the line tonight for both teams, and I think that some how, some way this game will slip Over the total come in the end.
Washington-Philadelphia to make it a 7-2 Over series run tonight in the City of Brotherly Love.
My free winner is on the Toronto Raptors, who return home to host the Denver Nuggets at Scotiabank Arena. And I'm laying the points in this one, as the Raptors have won three of the last four meetings with Denver and comes in sporting an 8-1 mark versus Western Conference opponents this season.
The Raptors, once again, are one of the hottest teams in the league, having won a season-high eight consecutive games, since Nov. 17. This time, though, it's their longest winning streak since the team won a franchise record 11 in a row late last season.
Toronto comes in averaging 118.5 points and shooting .517 (356-688) from the floor over the last eight games, and as defensive as the Nuggets are, I don't think they're going to stall the Raptors in this game.
Kawhi Leonard is starting to heat up, as he scored a game-high 34 points at Cleveland on Saturday, his second consecutive 30-point game and sixth of the season. Leonard has scored 71 points and is shooting .556 (25-45) from the floor over the last two games. He scored a season-high 37 points in overtime on Nov. 29 against Golden State.
Kyle Lowry leads the NBA in assists per game (10.3) and has dished out 10-or-more assists in 13 games. He missed Saturday's game against Cleveland with a sore back, but should be fine for tonight's game after sufficient rest.
Denver's five-game win streak is in jeopardy, as the Raptors will dominate tonight.
