Marshall -1.5 over Duquesne
Duquesne has not looked great offensively this year. Their last out against Pitt was an embarrassment on the offensive end. This is a team that is not getting great production from their top scorers. Marshall on the other hand is well coached and runs a fast paced NBA style offense which is not what the Dukes want to have to face with their struggling offense. Take Marshall.

St. Joes -3 over Princeton
Princeton has a super star guard in Devin Cannady, but I don’t think it will be enough against a well-coached St. Joes team that now has a healthy Kimble and Brown. This team finished with a winning record in the A-10 last year without the services of their top players. Some of the guys that probably shouldn’t have gotten minutes were forced into action which is huge for their development this season. The Hawks also have gone through a tough schedule this first month of the season which might make for an interesting game coming up vs. Nova on Saturday. Take St. Joes.

4-Unit Play. #503. Take Under 206.5 Denver Nuggets vs. Orlando (Wednesday @ 7:05pm est)
We roll with the Under here between these two teams because these are two very under the radar defensive minded teams. Note, the Nuggets are the 2nd ranked defensive team in general, #1 in 3 point-field goals against their opponent and #1 in rebounding as well (no second chance points). Combine that with the Magic getting up for the Nuggets and both teams having lower pace of play to begin with and Orlando being 6th in the league in defense, look for a very tight game that likely falls below the posted total today.

Best Bet – *Nebraska (-3/-4) over MINNESOTA (Opinion at current line)
Rotation #565 – 6 pm Pacific
I have been on this Nebraska team often since the middle of last season when they inserted Isaiah Roby into the starting lineup in mid-January. Since then the Cornhuskers are 17-5 ATS, including 7-1 ATS this season. They’ve had some variance in their favor this season but the Huskers are still a bit underrated – although the line is catching up to them. Today they face a Minnesota team that I just won a bet playing against (versus Ohio State) and the Gophers are a bit overrated. My ratings favor Nebraska by 5 points and Minnesota applies to a very negative 65-142-7 ATS situation. I’ll take Nebraska in a 1-Star Best Bet at -3 points or less (Opinion at -4).
Best Bet – *San Francisco (-5.5/-6.5) over CALIFORNIA (Opinion at current line)
Rotation #569 – 8 pm Pacific
It’s pretty obvious that I like this San Francisco team and they managed to hang within 4 points of a ranked and unbeaten Buffalo team despite only making 4 of their 20 3-point shots in that game. That is San Francisco’s only loss and I’m sure they’d love to stick to nearby Cal, who’s been avoiding the Dons for a decade despite USF wanting to get the Bears on their schedule. My Bears are just 2-4 straight up and 3-3 ATS despite making 43% of their 3-points shots, which is really random. Based on career 3-point shooting percentage, weighted by how many 3-pointers each player has taken, the Bears should be at 35.4% from long range. The rest is just luck and Cal would be really bad if they didn’t have that positive variance helping them out. San Francisco has allowed opponents just 25.3% from long range, which is also lucky, but it’s safe to say that Cal is unlikely to make a good percentage of 3-pointers and the Dons are a dominant team inside the arc, making 60.4% of their 2-point shots (5th in the nation) and allowing just 45.2% on 2-pointers (51st out of 353 teams). Cal is -6.1% in 2-point shooting margin and have allowed 55.4% on 2-pointers, which indicates that they’ll have no prayer in stopping San Francisco from scoring inside in this game.
My ratings actually favor the Dons by 8.2 points and I like the match-up. I’ll take San Francisco in a 1-Star Best Bet at -6 points or less (Opinion at -6.5).
