7-Unit Play. Take 'Under' 52.0 Baltimore at Kansas City (1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9)

I touched on it in my game writeup for the Ravens, but I think that this will be a game played in the 20's. The Ravens have the No. 1 defense in football. They aren't going to stop the Chiefs. But they should be able to slow them down a bit. It is one thing for the Chiefs to run around scoring 40+ points every week in September and October when the weather is warm. But it is going to be freezing cold in Kansas City this week, somewhere around 28 degrees. Everything moves a little slower in that type of cold. Throw in the loss of breakaway speedster/woman kicker Kareem Hunt and the Chiefs do lose some of their explosiveness. On the other side of the ball, I'm still not 100 percent sold on Lamar Jackson. But what I am sold on is the Ravens running the ball 50 times per game. And I think that they will be able to push the Chiefs around a bit in this one. They should be able to keep the clock moving and even put some points on the board. In fact, my biggest concern about this total is that the Ravens offense just blows up and hangs 30+ on Kansas City. The Ravens are going to try to run the ball and play good defense. That's been a winning recipe as long as football has been a sport. People still have that incredible 53-50 shootout with the Rams in their heads when they think about the Chiefs. But there is a reason a game like that is an all-time great: it is an anomaly. I know we are spitting into the wind here betting against an all-time great offense like Kansas City's. But styles make fights. And Baltimore's top-rated defense and commitment to the run - with below-freezing temperatures on top of that - sets this one up to be a little more traditional December NFL game rather than the Arena League shootouts we've seen most of the year. Let's go against the grain and take the 'under' here.
