Take Georgia State against the spread is my 7-Unit Smash for Wednesday night. The Panthers are hands-down the superior team here and they have shot 40.7% as a team from beyond the arc at home this season. Chattanooga has averaged just 59.4 points per game on the road this season while shooting just 36.2% as a team. The Panthers have had to play much tougher opponents so far than Chattanooga this season and it will show in this game. The Panthers are the superior team offense and defensively here tonight and the Panthers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games when playing against team that has a win rate on the road below .400. The Panthers are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games after a win and the Panthers are also 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games. The Mocs are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against a Sun Belt opponent and Chattanooga is 1-5 ATS in their last six games when playing against a team has a win rate above .600. Chattanooga is also just 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games when playing against a team that has a win rate above .600 at home. Play Georgia state ATS as we moved to 6-1 the last seven days with my college basketball picks.

1-Unit Play. Take #702 Boston College (-12.5) over Columbia (7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12)
Who do you think has had a rougher time during Finals Week: the kids at the Ivy League school or the kids not at the Ivy League school? Boston College has had over a week to stew about their crippling loss to Providence in overtime. That was a rivalry game that they choked away and they have had to swallow all that frustration over the past week. I think they will be ready to unload it on a bad Columbia team. Boston College has beaten solid teams like Minnesota, Loyola-Chicago and Wyoming all by double-digits. Columbia has only faced one team in the Top 200. That was Colgate. And they lost. At home. The Lions are swimming way out of their depth here. They lost by 15 point to the Eagles last year and they have stayed within 10 points of a team from a major conference exactly one time in the last five years. I think the Eagles bury the Lions here.
1-Unit Play. Take #705 LSU (+3) over Houston (9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12)
I'm playing the line movement here. Houston is a Top 25 team playing at home against a team from a major conference. This line opened at 6.5, which I thought was a bit high but not out of the realm. However, this line has dropped like a stone and I think that could be a bit of an indicator. I think that Houston has been playing over its head.
1-Unit Play. Take #708 Oregon (-8) over San Diego (10 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12)
This line is plunging down as everyone piles on San Diego. But now it is in a playable range for the home team. San Diego has played pretty well. But they have lost two of their three games against teams from major conferences, with the win coming at home against a shaky Colorado team. Oregon is a bit of a different animal. No, the Ducks have not played well this year and they entered the season overrated. But they are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 home games and they have one of the best players in the country in Bol Bol. San Diego's front line goes 6-5, 6-7, 6-8. Oregon's goes 6-9, 6-9, 7-2. The Ducks play better in all facets when they are at home and I don't see them playing poorly here.
2-Unit Play. Take #710 Georgia State (-14.5) over Chattanooga (7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12)
I don't know that there is any reason to expect this to be a close game. Georgia State won last year's meeting by 23 points on the road. The Panthers have had over a week to get over their win at Alabama and this is GSU's first game at home in weeks. I think they will be ready to cut loose here. Chattanooga has been blown out by worse teams than Georgia State. And if the Panthers are hitting from the outside early in this one they will turn UT-C's lights out.
7-Unit Play. Take #712 Southern Illinois (-2.5) over Murray State (8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12)
There's a lot at work in this one. Southern Illinois is an outstanding home team and they already have a solid win over St. Louis at home this year. Murray State is simply not the same team on the road that they are at home. I know they have been on a hot streak, covering five straight and nine of their last 10. But that's exactly why this line is so low and now the value is going the other way. Southern Illinois is on a 5-0 ATS run themselves. But the public is backing the road underdog. Murray State is coming off a blowout win over a bad Middle Tennessee State team. I don't see the Racers playing that well on the road in back-to-back games. Further, this is just Murray's State's second game in 11 days and just their third game in the past two weeks. They've only played five games against D-I competition this year and I think it is normal to expect them to be a little erratic. If Southern Illinois can slow down Ja Morant then they will win this game by double-figures. And this is a good defensive team. SIU is without Armon Fletcher. But Murray State lost starting forward Anthony Smith, so it is a bit of a wash there. The Salukis also have revenge for a loss at Murray State last year - a game in which they had a second half lead on the road - and SIU has won two of three (and five of eight) in this series. The favorite is 5-1 ATS when these two play and I will back the better team from the better conference, playing at home, against a short number.

I think that this is too many points. I think that Texas Tech has played over its head and I don't think that this team is as good as its numbers suggest. They also have no motivation for this game. These guys only beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff by 18 points and SE Louisiana by 19. They also only beat Mississippi Valley State, a team just as bad as Northwestern State, by 32 points. Again, I think that expecting a 40-point blowout is a little much.
