Late December in New York how excited can Miami be to be in the Pinstripe Bowl. Game time temps will be in the mid to upper 30’s. Off of last years fantastic year everyone thought The U was back and expectations were high for this year. Well 7-5 isn’t what was expected. The season unraveled for Miami with 4 straight losses from mid October to mid November. In those 4 losses the offense scored just 60 points in 4 games. Miami won their final 2 games beating a banged up Virginia Tech team then beating Pitt 24-3 in the season finale. Note Pitt had the division already locked up and was playing Clemson the following week in the ACC title game. Pitt just mailed that game in. Wisconsin is built to be a cold weather team as they will run the football at you 40 times a game. Wisconsin will wear this Miami defense down. In the season finale against Minnesota Wisconsin had 4 TO’s that led to Minnesota’s upset win. It also must be noted Minnesota needed that win to become bowl eligible. Miami gave up over 200 yards rushing to N. Carolina, Boston College and Georgia Tech. Wisconsin is the #16 team offensively at 6.5 YPP while Miami is 71st at 5.7 YPP. Wisconsin is #4 in the country running the football at 6.3 YPP. It gets even harder in the 4th Q trying to bring down these running backs when you are tired and cold. Wisconsin can ground and pound Miami to death in this one. One last stat over the last 5 years Underdogs playing on a neutral field that out rush their opponents by 100 yards per game 34-10 ATS. Wisconsin 27-20.
