Will the No. 1, 16-1 Tennessee Vols have a colossal letdown on the road vs. the 9-8 Vanderbilt Commodores on Wednesday night?!
Probably not. But after 12 straight wins, including over Alabama this past weekend, I think the Vols do indeed come out a bit complacent here.
The Commodores on the other hand won’t be taking anything for granted after five straight losses.
There’s no question in my mind which of these two teams is the “hungrier” one tonight.
The Vols are playing their first game as the No. 1, but they almost didn’t even make it by Alabama (71-68) at home last time out.
Vandy also plays with “double revenge” tonight after the Vols took both meetings last year (that included a 92-84 win at Vanderbilt.)
Funny to note as well that the only other time Tennessee has reached No. 1 (2007-08 season), it lost the next night to Vanderbilt. Lo and behold, the Vols' opponent tonight is Vandy. Deja vu?

I'll take my chances here with Indiana as a small home favorite against the Raptors. Toronto is simply getting too much respect here. Raptors come in having won 3 straight and are 8-1 in their last 9. The thing is, the last 3 wins were all at home against the likes of the Kings, Grizzlies and Suns. In fact, only 2 of the 8 wins during this stretch were on the road.
Toronto won't have Kawhi Leonard and may also be without OG Anunoby. I just think with how motivated the Pacers will be for this game, it's going to be tough for the Raptors to keep this competitive without their best player.
Pacers have already lost twice to the Raptors, including an ugly 16-point loss at Toronto earlier this month in the most recent meeting. I also think Indiana got a bit of a wake-up call in a recent blowout loss at home to the 76ers. They looked like a different team the last two, which were blowout wins over the Mavs and Hornets. I think they make a statement here. Give me the Pacers -5!

The Indiana Pacers have just four losses in the last 35 days, but two of them came against the Toronto Raptors, their opponent Wednesday in Indianapolis. The Raptors secured a three-point win over the Pacers at home Dec. 19 and a 16-point victory in a rematch Jan. 6, but Indiana is 11-2 against all other teams in that span after a 120-95 triumph over Charlotte on Sunday.
Toronto finished a 3-0 homestand with a 120-105 win over Sacramento on Tuesday. Star swingman Kawhi Leonard (rest) missed his third game in a row for the Raptors and he is not expected back until Friday at Houston.
Darren Collison scored 19 points and handed out nine assists while Bojan Bogdanovic chipped in 16 points in Sunday's victory as Indiana reached the 120-point mark for the fourth time in its last seven games. Bogdanovic is averaging 19.5 points on 51.6 percent shooting to go along with seven rebounds against the Raptors this season.

We have a first today in the NBA. The Bulls are chalk for a second straight game. That hasn't happened all season. Chicago ended a 10-game losing streak by defeating the Cavaliers, 104-88, on the road this past Monday. Now the Bulls come home to face the Hawks. Chicago has won consecutive games only once all season. Atlanta is the better team with the superior record. The Hawks are a respectable 8-9 in their last 17 games. They have revenge for an early-season loss to the Bulls. The Hawks have a winning road point spread mark. The Bulls have a losing home point spread record. Atlanta's next five games are on the West Coast. The Hawks don't play again until Saturday so a maximum effort should be forthcoming especially following a dismal 122-103 blowout home loss to the Magic two days ago. Atlanta is 6-2 ATS after a defeat. Sparked by second-year breakout star John Collins, the Haws lead the NBA in offensive rebounding while ranking No. 2 in rebounds per game. Collins can really hurt the Bulls, who are missing their toughest inside presence with center Wendell Carter Jr. out with a thumb injury. Collins, Trae Young and Kevin Huerter, a playmaking wing with an excellent 3-point shooting touch, give the Hawks an excellent and underrated young core. Huerter is expected to play after missing the Magic game due to a sore neck. The Hawks also have Taurean Prince back from injury. He's Atlanta's fourth-leading scorer.

What DePaul has done on the road thus far in Big East play has been nothing short of impressive. They only lost by 5 at Villanova as 12-point dogs, they won outright by 8 at St. John’s as 6-point dogs, and they won outright by 4 as 7.5-point dogs at Seton Hall.
Now the Blue Demons are catching 8.5 points on the road here to Marquette. The Eagles come into this game getting a lot of respect from oddsmakers due to winning 13 of their lsat 14 games overall. It’s time to ‘sell high’ on them here.
The Blue Demons also get an extra day to prepare for Marquette after last playing on Saturday, while the Eagles last played on Sunday and only have two days to prepare.
