Here in just the 4th running of this stakes test, #7 SUNNY RIDGE takes a slight class drop (-1), and has produced "POWER RUN PERFORMANCES" in five straight, hitting the board in four of those outings, including a "POWER RUN WIN" in his 4th race back. Jockey Manuel Franco, and Trainer Jason Servis send him "postward" this afternoon ... they've hit the board with 63% of their entries saddled as a team to date. I've got to go with TAKE ANOTHER SHOT. His 66 average has this gelding with among the strongest speed figures in this race. The winning percentage shown by horses entered by Comi running at this distance are the most favorable in this group. Looks formidable to be on the front end at the first call. MR. SIXTY SIX - Looks competitive versus this group of horses and will almost certainly be one of the front-runners. Conditioner has solid win rate (18 percent) at this distance and surface.

SAMMIE'S TOUCH - This mare was sharp enough to post a 'top two' workout recently. I think she's ready for today's event. Mare was in versus 'open company' on January 4th and should find this group easier to deal with. Trainer, Smith, has been deliberate with this mare off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today.

CATS BEAUTY - The morning-line favorite is shaky here with the lack of morning blow outs. This horse has been a disappointment to the horseplayers as the favorite time and time again. Rigorous stretch drive on Dec 9th and last out. Probably won't have anything to give in the lane in today's event. DIVA'S RANSOM - In any event of 6 furlongs, I like to back a contender that has been on the board in short distance affairs recently. Last ran on November 25th at Fair Grounds, finishing fourth. Not likely to perk up off of that effort in today's race. Speed figs tell a tale of deteriorating condition. Won't be easy for this racer to beat this bunch off of that last speed fig. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's class rating, so put her on the vulnerable contenders list. LUCKY BAND - Hard to wager on any horse to turn things around if there is no reward to taking the chance.

LIPAN - Trainer, Rumsey, has been deliberate with this gelding off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today. Ranked numero uno in earnings per start. Another indicator that this horse has the class to win. DURTDOBBR - Jockey hops back up on after getting to know the horse by riding last race out. That's always a good tip. Faced tougher last time out at Turf Paradise. Based on Equibase class figures, this is a weaker field, so I will put this one on my list of contenders. PP data show this pony with three improving speed figures. Hebert should be on a live one right here.
