These two teams played a very tight game earlier this season in which Sacramento State won 66-64 in Flagstaff. I expect a similar game in the encore, so I'll take the Lumberjacks and the points.

These are the two best teams in the Southern Conference, and a win for Wofford would essentially wrap up the regular season conference title. This spread seems large for a game between two of the conferences best teams, and it has no doubt been influenced by Wofford's 29-point win in Greensboro earlier this year. That game was an outlier. This game will be much more competitive.

I can't help but feel like this is a a spread based more on each team's overall record than it is how they've performed in conference play. Samford is 15-11 overall, but it's only 5-8 in the SoCon. Chattanooga's only 11-15 overall, but it's 6-7 in conference. Samford's better, but I'm not sure it's 8.5 points better.

Ohio's problem all season long has been an offense that struggles to score consistently. What the Bobcats have done well, however, is defend. That will help them here against a Central Michigan team that's struggled defensively all season long.

I've told myself no fewer than three times this season that I'm done with West Virginia, but like a moth to a flame, I keep coming back. This is just a case of thinking the spread is too large. Kansas is much better at home than on the road this season, but the Jayhawks are still only 6-8 ATS at home this season.

This play is about Valpo's defense more than anything. The Crusaders have been one of the best defensive teams in the MVC all season long, which has benefitted them on the road. Valpo is only 9-15 ATS on the season, but it's 5-5 on the road and 6-6 as a dog. Against a turnover-prone Drake offense, those records improve today.

Rice is a volatile team because it's porous defensively, but on offense it has a knack for getting to the free throw line, and it occasionally gets hot from three. In its last game we saw one side of Rice, as it lost to FIU 86-65 while shooting 3/13 from three. I anticipate a better performance offensively against the FAU, which should keep Rice within the number.

There's been plenty of talk about the rough stretch Indiana has gone through. The Hoosiers are 4-9 in the Big Ten, having lost 9 of their last 10. They've played better of late, however, beating Michigan State two Saturdays ago and losing close to Iowa and Ohio State. Minnesota hasn't been great itself. The Gophers are on a 4-game losing streak right now, and have the worst defense in the conference aside from Iowa. Plus, Indiana is the more talented team. I like the Hoosiers here.

Duquesne's defense has improved in the A-10, but it's still performed in the bottom half of the league, and I don't like trusting favorites who play poor defense. Not unless they have a great offense, anyway, and the Dukes are a bit pedestrian there.

This should be a great defensive game. Dayton is really starting to look good and have great players who can score from point blank range. VCU plays excellent defense. Dayton does not do well in low scoring games. When this team scores under 67 points they are 0-6. The Flyers will be without Trey Landers tonight which will hurt them on the glass especially on offensive put backs. Dayton should be able to force enough turnovers and capitalize on a thin Dayton team to get a big road victory. Take VCU.

We picked on South Florida the other night and won. This is a team that had an easy schedule early on, but now they will be exposed down the stretch. This team lost about 80% of production in every major category. Temple owns this series and I just can’t see the Bulls getting their first win today in ages with a new team. Shizz Alston has been incredible for Temple this year and is starting to become unstoppable in league play. USF turns the ball over too much and again after making the public so much money this year I believe it’s time for them to start giving it back. Take Temple.
