Of course you know what that usually means! The fact is that a Rhode Island team that has a winning record and that has beaten La Salle 4 straight times is a very small favorite in this match-up even though the Explorers have an ugly 10-20 record on the season. Don't be fooled by this line. La Salle has won 7 of its last 13 games SU and has gone 8-5 ATS during this stretch. Also, the Explorers wrapped up the season with a dominating win and they are 5-1 ATS (and 4-2 SU!) this season when off a game in which they allowed 60 or less points. The Rams wrapped up the regular season on a 4-game winning streak both SU and ATS. However, Rhode Island previously had lost 7 of their 8 prior games both SU and ATS. The Rams have allowed 49% or better from the field in 6 of their last 9 games. The Explorers have held opponents to 45% or less from the field in 9 of their last 13 games. The set-up: The Ducks look poised for a letdown in my opinion after their big 3-2 upset win at home over Nashville on Tuesday. The Coyotes enter off a 3-1 road win over St. Louis in their most recent action. These teams have played four times and the road team has prevailed in each instance. Arizona won’t be taking anything for granted here obviously. Despite their recent “up-tick” in play, the Ducks are still averaging just 2.27 GPG, while allow 3.01. Arizona comes in on top form having won three of its last four and it holds a one-point lead over the Wild for the second wild card sot. The Coyotes average 2.61 GPG and they allow 2.79.
The pick: Take it for what you will as well, but the Coyotes are 7-1 in their last eight at home and 6-1 in their last seven when playing on one days rest, while the Ducks are still just 2-9 in their last 11 as an underdog and only 2-9 in their last 11 on the road. All things considered, I think this is a very fair price. Consider the home side here.

PRAY FOR KITTEN - This gelding should be at the fitness peak, this far into his form cycle. WILD HAIR - This jockey and handler have a high win percentage together. My choice is right here, and I'll tell you why. Ward wins 35 percent with first timers. Ward is giving this one Lasix for the 1st time. Very nice. I like that this first-timer has been working over the Turfway Park oval and makes his debut here today.

I've got to go with CARTOONIST. Will most likely come out very solid - I have liked the way this gelding has moved speedily to the lead recently. Had one of the most favorable Equibase speed figs of this group of animals in his last outing. With a strong 89 average Equibase Speed Figure at the distance, seems well suited for today's race. SYNNIN - Must be given consideration here on the basis of the figs in the speed department alone. Solid average speed figures in dirt sprint races make this equine a definite contender. BROWNIE FINALE - The speed figure of 92 from his last race looks very good in here. Tough to pass on this gelding with Gonzalez in the saddle.
