Both of these teams have had to listen to the talking heads on sports shows complain how they don’t belong in the Big Dance. St John’s especially is the team that everyone says doesn’t belong as they went 1-4 down the stretch and lost their last game by 32 points. That loss was to Marquette one of the better teams in the country. As I always say no one is as good as their best game or as bad as their worst game. That was clearly St. John’s worst game and the market has over reacted. The wrong team is favored here. St. John’s played the tougher schedule this year and Arizona St was too inconsistent for me to trust them here traveling across country and laying points. St. John’s has something to prove and I say they prove it. My numbers have St. John’s winning by 3-5 points.

WVU has been a regular in the Big Dance but this has been a really down year for the Mountaineers as they land in the CBI tournament. Honestly at 14-20 I’m surprised they even decided to go to this tournament. Yes I know they made a nice run in the Big 12 Tournament beating Oklahoma and Texas Tech but how do they get up for playing Grand Canyon? Grand Canyon is a good team out of the WAC Conference. This is a big game for them and I know they are pumped up to be here where as WVU can say all the right things but at the end of the day this is the CBI tournament and even if you win the Tournament is it something to be proud of if you are WVU? These smaller tournaments are just as much about motivation as it is talent. Grand Canyon has both talent and motivation and I just can’t say the same for West Virginia. My numbers have Grand Canyon by 1-3 points.

CPAW, first things first, Thanks for all the effort you put in. It's appreciated!
Secondly, I'm confused. Are WWP plays being posted as the opposite of what he suggests or because of his record are you suggesting to always play the opposite of his picks.
