The Dodgers unleashed an offensive onslaught on the Diamondbacks for Opening Day. That was a slight surprise for a team that lost a considerable amount of power in the off-season. L.A.'s roster isn't exactly the same as last year's, but in 2018 the team was well below-average against LHPs. That includes against Robbie Ray, who allowed three runs and struck out 16 in 10.1 innings against these Dodgers. Ross Stripling is an All-Star caliber spot-starter, but he allowed eight runs in 11 innings against the Diamondbacks. Arizona didn't burn its strong bullpen Thursday, so if the bats can get to Stripling early, the D'backs can throw pitchers at the Dodgers to the end.

Padres starter Joey Lucchesi allowed four runs over 11 innings in his rookie year against San Fran, with 17 strikeouts and one walk. Derek Holland has not been successful against the Padres, with a 6.23 ERA in six appearances against them. San Diego survived Madison Bumgarner on Thursday -- it can continue the success again a consecutive LHP at Petco.
