St. Louis makes a second trip into Milwaukee already this season starting tonight. After being swept in Anaheim, the Brew Crew took the series in Los Angeles. St. Louis arrives in Brew Town after playing they Reds twice in Mexico and they have won six of seven.
The Brewers Freddy Peralta (1-0, 6.91 ERA) has one outstanding start sandwiched between two poor outings this season but has avoided defeat thus far. St. Louis right-hander Dakota Hudson (0-1, 2.79) will make his third major league start after coming out of the bullpen in all 26 appearances during his rookie year last season. He has not allowed a run in his past two outings and this season and over the last five years in April, pitchers that throw that well have allowed 4.2 runs a start in next outing. Toss in Milwaukee is 17-5 after a game where they had four or fewer hits and 10-1 at home after a loss by six runs or more and they are our pick.

Joel Embiid should be healthier and the entire Sixers team should come out with an edge after getting embarrassed in Game 1. But the Nets went 2-2 against Philly in the regular season -- all four games featured Embiud -- so it's not like the Nets opening win was an epic fluke. Brooklyn just needs to sustain the opening flurry by Philly, then its superior depth can help keep it in the game and give the Nets a chance at the end. Take the points.

At some point we should assume the Rockies' bats are going to wake up. But it may not be in pitcher-friendly San Diego and against LHP Joey Lucchesi, who dominated his first two outings before a dud against the Giants. Colorado is hitting .184 and averaging 2.3 runs per game on the road, and is a horrid .197 all year against lefties. Antonio Senzatela, the presumed Rockies starter, gets called up for a start and has yet to show he can be an effective starter. I'll lean with Lucchesi, who has yet to allow a run at home.

Clayton Kershaw makes his season debut. He's not likely slated to go more than six innings, but he'll face a Reds team that's hitting .180 and average 2.5 runs per game on the road this year. Luis Castillo has been great for Cincy, but this is his first road game, and he'll face a Dodgers order that leads MLB in hitting against RHPs (.292) and is averaging 6.8 runs at home. Cincy's offense doesn't have the players right now to take advantage of a Dodgers bullpen that's giving up homers but is otherwise adequate.

Yusei Kikuchi has led in all three starts only to be pulled early to watch the Mariners bullpen blow all three. The kid gloves need to be taken off -- he's not a rookie. Monday would be a good day to let him show what he's got, at home against an Indians offense that's hitting .187 on the road and averaging just three runs per game, and that's .200 against left-handers. Trevor Bauer goes for Cleveland, but he's 1-4 all-time against Seattle, and this year's Mariners rank No. 3 in MLB hitting against RHPs and are averaging 5.7 runs at home.

L.A. is winning a whopping 76 percent of my simulations, making this money line price a sizeable value.
