Mahoning Valley Race Course - Race #5 - Post: 2:36pm - Maiden Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $11,100 Class Rating: 62

Rating: Golden DollarGolden DollarGolden DollarGolden Dollar

      #4 LITTLE TODD (ML=8/1)
      #6 STARCATTER (ML=20/1)

LITTLE TODD - Rosario is back for another event today after getting on board this horse for the initial time on April 1st and ought to know the ropes to this one a little better. I really like that last effort on Apr 1st at Mahoning Valley Race Cour where he ran third. STARCATTER - All systems look good for this gelding. Last workout, 2nd fastest of the day, shows he's fit and ready. Possibly a peak effort for this gelding today. Been getting closer with each recent start.

Vulnerable Contenders: #9 TOP HAT VOYAGER (ML=2/1), #7 TAPNGO (ML=5/2), #10 TWO MILE CREEK (ML=4/1),

TOP HAT VOYAGER - This colt didn't race too well last time out. TAPNGO - Will be tough for this mount to beat this bunch off of that last speed rating. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class figure, so put him on the questionable contenders list. TWO MILE CREEK - Hard to wager on any racer to turn things around if there is no value to taking the risk.

      STRAIGHT WAGERS:
Put your money on #4 LITTLE TODD on the nose if you can get odds of 3/2 or more

        The Walker Group Picks

        # 1 MAII 6/1

        # 8 THANKFUL EVERY DAY 2/1

        # 7 BASES LOADED 10/1

My selection in this event is MAII. I like the rider on this gelding - formidable chance to win the contest. This racer has to be in good condition coming back to the track so soon. THANKFUL EVERY DAY - With Leon in the saddle guiding him, this gelding will most likely be able to break out quickly in this race. Could beat this group given the 90 Equibase speed fig garnered in his last outing. BASES LOADED - With Hernandez controlling the reins on him, this gelding will almost certainly be able to break out early for this event.

FOR ACCREDITED OKLAHOMA-BREDS MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. THREE YEAR OLDS, 118 LBS.; OLDER, 124 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $15,000.

          # 7 DIBSONTHEMONEY 8/5

          # 1 BILLIE G 9/2

          # 3 KURIOUS KENNEDY 3/1

DIBSONTHEMONEY is the strongest wager in this race. She should definitely be given a shot given the respectable speed figs. Well above average win rate at this distance/surface. McNeil ought to be able to get this mare to break out quickly in this contest. BILLIE G - She has been running admirably and the speed figures are among the strongest in this group of horses. This filly could improve with second time Lasix.

            #4 ITS A BOY (ML=6/1)
            #6 PARKING PERMIT (ML=9/2)
            #7 SENOR FRIDAY (ML=6/5)

ITS A BOY - Don't often see a favorable return on investment like +47. This jockey/handler duo has done well together over the last 12 months. I know he'll be way back, but he's got a great kick turning for home. I seem to always make money betting Brinson horses on the grass. That barn has a powerful win pct for this distance/surface. PARKING PERMIT - This thoroughbred has recorded the best recent turf Equibase speed figure at the dist/surf. Looking at today's class figure, this thoroughbred is up against an easier bunch than last race out at Turf Paradise. SENOR FRIDAY - This gelding is very familiar with the winner's circle at Turf Paradise. I expect a repeat trip in this race. This rider/conditioner duo has been producing a high win percent, right around 37. Here is a true horse for the course. Loves the track here at Turf Paradise. This gelding is tops in earnings per start. Take a good look at this animal in the saddling ring. In my opinion, you need 'class' to be successful on the turf. This one has the highest average class rating in the field.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 MIDNIGHT REVERIE (ML=7/2),

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Turf Man - PARKING PERMIT - Don't discount this gelding in this turf race. The TrackMaster turf number in his last turf race is the best of these horses.
