The Chicago Cubs opened this series with a 10-0 triumph on Monday, but I think they'll face far more resistance from the Pirates here in Game 2 of the series.
Pirates' right-hander Jordan Lyles (0-0, 0.00 ERA) pitched five scoreless innings in his season debut against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday. "He's got a good feel for the ball," catcher Jacob Stallings said in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. The Cubs hand the ball to Yu Darvish (0-1, 8.10 ERA) who is winless since May 20, 2018. He's had a poor start to the new season, allowing six runs on seven hits and 11 walks in two starts covering just a total of 6 2/3 innings.
Pittsburgh had won four on the bounce prior to Monday's beatdown and the club is 8-2 in its last 10 games following a loss.

The Pacers are locked into the No. 5 slot in the Eastern Conference and know they will open up the playoffs in Boston. Indiana really had to rely on their energy and effort to stay in the postseason mix after the injury to Victor Oladipo.
I think they have lost that edge with a playoff spot wrapped up, as they are just 3-9 over their last 12 games. They came out with little to no energy in Sunday's loss at home to the Nets.
As much as Indiana could use a positive performance in the regular-season finale, the most important thing for them is getting guys fresh. Expect multiple guys to sit and others to have their minutes restricted.
Atlanta has played well down the stretch and I would expect a big effort here in their home finale. Key here is a win doesn't hurt the Hawks' lottery chances. Win or lose, they will have the 5th worst record in the league. I like them to win here going away. Take Atlanta!
