MLB | Pirates vs Tigers
Play on: Pirates -106 at pinnacle
Jack’s Free Pick Tuesday: Pittsburgh Pirates -105
The Pittsburgh Pirates have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games overall. A big part of their success has been the emergence of Joe Musgrove, who is 1-1 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.750 WHIP in two starts this season with 14 K’s in 13 1/3 innings. He hasn’t allowed a single earned run yet.
The Tigers have lost three straight and it won’t get any easier with Matt Boyd on the mound today against this the hot hitting Pirates. Boyd is 0-2 with a 10.56 ERA and 2.608 WHIP in two career starts against the Pirates, both of which have come over the past two seasons.
Pittsburgh is 19-4 in its last 23 vs. AL teams that score 3.9 or fewer runs per game. The Tigers are hitting just .201 and scoring 2.7 runs per game this season. It’s a miracle they have a winning 8-7 record to this point while hitting that poorly. Bet the Pirates Tuesday.

MLB | Diamondbacks vs Braves
Play on: Braves -137 at pinnacle
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Atlanta Braves -137
Max Fried has been lights out to start the season for the Braves. He has gone 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.58 WHIP in his two starts this season, and one of those was at Coors Field. Robbie Ray is 0-1 with a 3.52 ERA in three starts for the Diamondbacks. He has never had success against the Braves as Ray is 0-2 with a 4.11 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in his three previous starts against them. The Diamondbacks are 3-12 in their last 15 games following a win. Arizona is 1-4 in Rays’ last five starts. Atlanta is 13-4 in its last 17 home games. The Braves are 46-22 in their last 68 against a team with a losing record. Give me the Braves.

MLB | Rockies vs Padres
Play on: Padres -107 at pinnacle
Dave’s Tuesday Free Play:
1* on San Diego Padres -107 The Key: We’re getting the Padres at a cheap price at home tonight against the Colorado Rockies. This is a vastly improved Padres team that is off to an 11-7 start this season, compared to 5-12 for Colorado. You would be hard-pressed to find many better rotations and bullpens than the Padres have. Nick Margevicius is 1-1 with a. 1.69 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in his 3 starts for the Padres this season. He has allowed exactly one earned run in all 3 starts while yielding only 10 base runners in 16 innings. Jon Gray is 0-3 with a 4.19 ERA in 3 starts for the Rockies. Colorado is 0-4 in Gray’s last 4 starts. The Rockies are 3-12 in their last 15 games overall. The Padres are 7-0 in their last 7 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. Take San Diego.
The pressure is now firmly one the backs of the perennially underachieving Toronto Raptors who were stunned by the Orlando Magic who got a D.J. Augustin 3-point dagger in their favor with 3.5 seconds remaining in regulation to steal the first game on Saturday, 104-101 at the +8 1/2 point road dogs.
Now Orlando is getting a basket more, as the old cliche that the home team is in a must win situation, so you have to lay the wood is on full display tonight in Toronto as the Raptors look to level this series before heading south to Florida for the next pair of games.
I highly doubt the Raptors lose this game, and I also highly doubt guard Kyle Lowry shoots 0-of-7 again for another goose egg on the stat sheet, but winning this game by double-digits is also something that I highly doubt the home team is capable of doing.
The Toronto postseason track record is not one that instills confidence, and while the team changed its roster this season with the addition of Kawhi Leonard, the fact remains, the Raptors are just 21-31 straight up in the playoffs now dating back to the 2013 season. They are also a money-burning 8-17-1 against the spread in that same span when listed as the favorite!
Orlando continues to flourish, as they ended the regular season on a 22-9 straight up run over their last 31 games. Since the Magic did not have the luxury of coasting to the finish line, Steve Clifford's team has been playing "meaningful" games for a while now, and they are on a 12-2 run their last 14, covering in 11 of those 14. That streak includes their current 5 game win and cover streak.
The Magic has also shown to be a tough matchup for the Raptors this season, as they have now won in 3 of the 5 season meetings, and have covered in 4 of the 5 season series meetings. Much of that success can be attributed to the fact Orlando has outrebounded Toronto in 4 of the 5 meetings thus far this year, including holding a Game One 48-45 advantage on the glass.
I am taking the points with the Magic as they prove to be a tough out once again tonight.
