The set-up: The Stars and Blues are tied at two games apiece as we head into Game 5. So far Dallas has averaged 3.1 GPG in the playoffs, while allowing 2.3. St. Louis has averaged 2.9 goals and allowed 2.7. These teams are very evenly matched and to be honest, I think I could easily write a convincing argument for the Stars to win this one as well. For arguments sake, let’s call the goaltenders a “wash.” Jordan Binnginton and Ben Bishop both carried their respective teams to the playoffs this year. The difference comes in the numbers/trends tonight.
The pick: As take it for what you will, but Dallas is just 13-17 (-6.6 units) this season after scoring four goals or more in its previous contest, while St. Louis is 19-9 (+6.8 units) after allowing four or more goals. Consider the home side in this one.

The Padres won big at Atlanta yesterday. However, off that blowout victory, they had to cross the country to host Kershaw and a rested Dodger team. Kershaw may not have the velocity that he once did but he's still capable of dominating. Last time out, he allowed one run, on just four hits, through seven complete innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter. Kershaw has a 2.25 ERA on the season and has gone a minimum of six complete innings in each start. Lauer, on the other hand, has a 4.41 ERA and has yet to make it past the sixth. When considering that the Dodgers are a perfect 14-0 the past 14 times that Kershaw started against San Diego, this line could easily be higher. Take a look at the rested road favorite.
