My free play tonight is back on the ice, where I just nailed the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues to stay Under the posted number. Tonight I'm playing the San Jose Sharks to nab their second straight Game 7 victory, this time over the Colorado Avalanche.
Been there, done that.
Back in another Game 7, I'm siding with the San Jose Sharks for this game, as I believe they learned their lesson against the Vegas Golden Knights. Remember, two weeks ago Vegas held a 3-0 lead late in the third period, and it took four goals in 4:01 after the refs blew the call against Cody Eakin, for the Sharks to wake up. They won in overtime, Marc-Andre Fleury and the boys packed up their locker room at City National Arena and Vegas, and the Sharks swam forward in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Now they're back, circling prey and smelling blood on the ice.
There's nothing like a Game 7 in the NHL Playoffs.
And here's the other wake-up call. The Avalanche forced this deciding game with a 4-3 overtime victory in Game 6 on Monday in Denver. The Sharks aren't about to pull a Vegas, and choke away a series.
The Avs are similar to Vegas with their speed, while they have the quality goaltender in Philipp Grubauer. So the Sharks should have their blueprint laid out in how to attack Colorado tonight, and not fall behind like they did against the Golden Knights.
And can you imagine if the Sharks get captain Joe Pavelski back? He hasn't played since suffering a concussion on the Eaking hit, which resulted in him hitting his head on the ice. He is a game-time decision. But even having him in the locker room, or on the bench, waving a towel - it will make a difference.
The Sharks just continue to find ways to win, as they continue to come from behind in games, they dominate at other times, they get superior play from netminder Martin Jones when they need him and tonight they may get their best overall play of the entire postseason thus far.
I'm laying the number with the home team here.
