Saturday's comp play comes in the NHL, as I am going to play the Blues-Sharks opening game to hold Under the total.

Here we have a pair of sizzling goalies, as Blues goalie Jordan Binnington has allowed just 4 goals total in his last 3 games, while Sharks goalie Martin Jones has gone 7-3 his last 10 in the postseason with a GAA just over 2.

St. Louis enters on a 2-0-1 Under run their last 3 this postseason, while San Jose is on a 3-1 Under run their last 4 games played this postseason.

All 3 season series meetings this year have played Under the total, as the series Under has been the play in each of the last 5 series meetings between the Western Conference rivals. Overall, the Under is 6-0-2 the last 8 times these teams have faced-off against one another!

Game One is usually a "feeling out" contest between teams, and tonight's first game will see both Binnington and Jones "wall up", as I am not counting on more than 4 combined goals being scored in this series opener.

Blues and Sharks Under in Game One for Saturday night.

    4* ST. LOUIS-SAN JOSE UNDER

Event: (911) Cincinnati Reds at (912) San Francisco Giants
      Sport/League: MLB
      Date/Time: May 11, 2019 9PM EDT
      Play: Total Over 7.5 (+105)

We will be on the OVER tonight in the Cinci/SF game, as we believe that the oddsmakers have come a little short on this total. The starting pitchers for tonight’s game are for the Reds RH Anthony DeSclafani (2-1, 3.65 ERA) and he will face the Giants RH Jeff Samardzija (2-1, 3.16 ERA). The total at the time of this writing is set at 7 1/2 and our numbers have 8 so there is some nice value for us here. DeSclafani just faced these Giants in his last start and allowed 4 runs in 6 innings. Now he has to take his act on the road to Oracle Park (it will always be AT&T Park to us) and face a Giants club coming off a game where they scored no runs. DeSclafani, has a career 6.23 ERA against the Giants and we do not see that changing tonight as he will give up some runs. As for Samardzija, we have not been in the corner of this 34 yr. old veteran for some time now. (Although we do still have his bobblehead from a sunny Tuesday in late May at Wrigley in 2012) Samardzija faced the Reds in his last turn and allowed 4 runs in 5 innings. The Reds are starting to hit of late and have averaged over 6 runs a game in their last 8 games. We will look for the Reds to hit Samardzija early and often as we watch this game fly OVER the posted total.

Backing our selection is the fact that the Over is 6-1 in Samardzijas last 7 starts vs. a team with a losing record and the fact that the Over is 8-0 in DeSclafanis last 8 starts after the Reds score 5 runs or more in their previous game. So lets get the job done with the Reds/Giants game OVER 7 1/2 for your free play for today.

        Jared Cannonier vs Anderson Silva

In a main card fight in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, UFC legend and Former Middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva (34-9) faces off against Jared "The Killa Gorilla" Cannonier (11-4).

Despite sounding like a King Kong movie title, The Spider vs The Killa Gorilla is one intriguing match up. Anderson Silva is an immortal legend in the UFC cage, but at 44 years old what does he have left in the tank? After winning 16 straight UFC fights including multiple title defenses, recently seen a rough road for the former champion going 2-5 in last 7. Over that span, he's lost only to elite level competition like former Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman, 2 division champion Daniel Cormier, and current interm middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. That's a death row of opposition.
On the other side, Jared Cannonier has moved down 2 weight classes from heavyweight to middleweight. Since his move down, he's looked good, yet he's 2-3 in his last 5 fights. Most recently beating an aging David Branch who gassed late and The Killa Gorilla found a way to finish the fight.
The biggest red flag on Cannonier is his completely basic and traditional boxing style. Yes, he's an imposing figure, but fights extremely one dimensional. The power he possess is relevant, but the distance management of Silva will play a large factor. Jared is reckless moving forward and his linear movement Silva should find a rhythm to work. The Spider has outstanding head movement, working off counters mixing up combinations which will lead to damaging Cannonier. I believe Silva will keep Jared at bay, throwing volume picking apart the less technical striker. Add in Silva is fighting at home in Brazil where he's never lost, and won't have to WOW the judges to out point Cannonier on the scorecards. I'm taking the home town legend to out point the slower fighter and continue his home undefeated streak.

        Anderson Silva (+120)
