I like the value we are getting on the Braves at home tonight at basically even money. The Braves have won four of their last five coming in and are playing some quality baseball right now. And the fans are excited with the call up of Austin Riley, who homered in his first big league game yesterday and who hit 15 homers in the minors already this season.
Julio Teheran has fared much better at home than on the road this season. Teheran is 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.278 WHIP in three home starts this year. He has pitched very well in his last two starts, giving up just one earned run in 12 innings for a 0.75 ERA.
Adam Wainwright has also been much better at home than on the road for the Cardinals this season. Wainwright is 1-2 with a 5.49 ERA and 1.313 WHIP in four road starts in 2019. He is also 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA in his last three starts against Atlanta, allowing 12 earned runs in 16 innings.
The Cardinals are 1-5 in their last six road games. The Braves are 18-6 in their last 24 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Atlanta is 10-3 in Teheran’s last 13 home starts vs. a team with a winning record. Bet the Braves Thursday.Comment

Easy play for me on Chicago as a home dog against the Blue Jays. No way should Toronto be favored on the road right now. Blue Jays are a miserable 2-8 in their last 10. After scoring 7 runs in a win at SF on Wednesday, Toronto returned right back to form, scoring a mere 3 runs on 5 hits. That's now 7 times in their last 10 games that they have scored 3 or fewer runs.
Blue Jays are likely getting respect here because of the overall numbers for starter Marcus Stroman, who has a 3.12 ERA and 1.288 WHIP in 9 starts. As good as Stroman has been, Toronto has only won 2 of those 9 outings. Stroman also comes into this game in awful form, posting a 7.54 ERA and 1.814 WHIP in 3 starts. He's also got a much worse 4.15 ERA in 3 road starts this year.
White Sox have been money in the first game of a series, winning 6 of their last 7 to open a new series. I know the numbers aren't great for Chicago starter, Dylan Covey, but the Blue Jays are a mere 1-8 in their last 9 vs a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. Take Chicago!Comment

We’re getting the better starter in this game as a dog here against the San Diego Padres. Trevor Willaims is 2-1 with a 3.40 ERA in eight starts this season, including 2-0 with a 2.87 ERA in five road starts. Eric Lauer is 2-4 with a 5.75 ERA in eight starts this season, including 0-1 with a 7.90 ERA in his last three starts. Lauer is 0-1 with a 6.51 ERA in two previous starts against the Pirates. Pittsburgh is 6-1 in Williams’ last seven starts when working on 5 days’ rest. San Diego is 1-4 in Lauer’s last five starts. Give me the Pirates.Comment

Game One held Under the total primarily due to Portland not getting off the ground, as the Trail Blazers committed 21 turnovers for the game, and also shot bricks at a 7-of-28 clip from behind the arc!
Not unexpected to tell you the truth, as the Blazers had to be a little gassed after having played just 48 hours prior in their Game Seven comeback win in Denver over the Nuggets. Even with that Game One Under, Portland is still on a 6-3 Over run their last 9 played this postseason.
As for Golden State, the Warriors enter this game on a 5-3-1 Over run their last 9 played this postseason. I know Kevin Durant is still sidelined with this 34-plus postseason points missing, but both Step Curry and Klay Thompson have picked up the slack and are stroking it from the perimeter. The Warriors were 17-for-33 from behind the arc in Game One, and while I do not expect them to hit at an over 50% clip from distance again tonight, I do expect them to reach their season average of 117-plus points per game in this spot on Thursday.
Portland does average over 114 points per game and obviously were nowhere close to that number on Tuesday. Tonight they will be back in their offensive flow as this second game in the Western Conference Finals heads Over the total.

I'm on a 14-6 run with free plays and tonight I look to make it 15 of 21.
I'm playing the Cleveland Indians against the Baltimore Orioles tonight, and with a hefty price to pay, we're going to play this on the Run Line.
Since every MLB wager on a run line or total auto-lists pitchers, I want you to be sure the two pitchers on your ticket, when making this play, are Trevor Bauer and Dan Straily. If they are not the pitchers of record when making your play, disregard this play.
First off, overall, this is a team mismatch. The Indians are simply a far better team than Baltimore, and this shouldn't even be close.
But I'll make this about the pitchers.
Bauer is in after allowing two runs (neither of which were earned), on just two hits through seven innings, as he tossed a season-high 122 pitches on Saturday in Oakland. His durability has led him to a 4-2 mark and 3.02 ERA this season, along with 72 strikeouts. And this is a good spot for him, as he'll be eager to get this win since he's gone 1-4 with a 5.45 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in six career starts against the Orioles.
He'll get the run support he'll need, as Straily has struggled to find consistency this season. He is 1-3 with an 8.23 ERA this season and hasn't lasted longer than 4 1/3 innings his last three times out. He's yet to get out of the fifth inning this season, and has allowed 11 earned runs over his last two starts.

Thursday comp play on the Twins and Mariners to get their four game set off with some fireworks, as this game heads north of the total.
Minnesota left town on Wednesday with a solid day at the plate, scoring 8 while allowing 7 to be scored against them, as they played over the total in their finale with the Angels. That Over pushed Minny to 2-2-1 Over the total in their last 5, and while that stat is not overwhelming, Minnesota is averaging 5.4 per game over those 5.
The Mariners were idle on Wednesday, and bring an 8-3 Over run into this home series with the Twins. Seattle will go with Eric Swanson who has made 5 starts this year, 4 of them landing Over the total largely thanks to his 6.35 season ERA.
The Twins will start Michael Pineda whose ERA stands at 6.19 over his last 3 starts, and 3 of his last 5 season starts have played Over the posted total.
With Pineda and Swanson having problems keeping the hitters from swinging and missing, going to look for this first of four from the Emerald City to see the runs add up to an Over.
