Adam Wainwright sports a 6.75 road ERA for the Cardinals, who are 7-16 in May. In 25.1 innings on the road, Wainwright has served up five homers. The Phils are optimistic we'll see a better Nick Pivetta this time around -- he hasn't pitched for the big club since April 16 -- but even if he's not super-sharp he should get good run support. Lay it.

It's hard to back the Tigers right now, given how bad they struggle offensively, but in this spot I like them behind lefty Matthew Boyd. He's fanned 41 and walked five over his last six starts, and he's coming off six scoreless innings versus the Marlins. Baltimore's Dylan Bundy has given up 12 homers, including nine at home in just 32.2 innings.

Have to give Baltimore credit as they were able to win in a very bad scheduling spot yesterday having to play a day game after playing a late afternoon game Sunday in the altitude of Colorado then travel back to East Coast. I expect the fatigue that didn’t kick in yesterday to be a factor today. I also love this pitching match up as Matt Boyd has been consistent all year with an ERA of 3.11 and a WHIP of 1.00. Dylan Bunny has struggled most of the year posting an ERA of 4.67 and a WHIP of 1.26. He has made 10 starts and Baltimore is 3-7 in those starts. Over the last 2 seasons Bundy has made 25 starts at night and Baltimore is just 4-21 in those 25 games with the opposition averaging 6.9 runs a game. In fact Baltimore is 38-99 in all night games the last 2 seasons. Finally Baltimore is just 15-35 the last 2 seasons when facing teams from the AL Central. My numbers have Detroit winning 6-4.

The Braves have been exactly what everyone thought they would be throug the seasons first two months with a 30-24 record. They have not been lights out at home but with 14 up and 12 down they still are a formidable home team. Atlanta send seven game winner Max Fried to the bump tonight and the way the Nats have been playing the young lefty has a great chance to make it number 8. Take the Bravos to get a W.
