That's a sure sign of improving form. 39-49-58 are last three speed ratings. Improving each time out is something she should do again in today's race. JEZABEL'S CHARM - Have to make this mare a solid contender; she comes off a solid outing on June 1st. Took a significant drop in class rating last time around the track at Thistledown. Returning to a similar level in this field. Should do well.

Not probable to improve enough to run a figure anywhere near today's class rating, so put her on the vulnerable competitors list. MARLA DUNNIT - This horse didn't do too much last time finishing fifth. Can't expect any betterment in today's race. Notched a pedestrian fig last time around the track in a $7,500 Claiming race on Jun 1st. Improbable to see an improved performance off of that figure.

GEH SCHNELL - When this jockey and trainer unite you have to take a look. Spieth and Girten have been great together. FINE - I believe this equine isn't a natural sprinter. Routing is his best game and those last two sprints should have him set for a big run today. Trainer Cain moves this one down the class scale to face a lower rated field. Look for a good performance with this class drop. This gelding notched a strong speed fig of 76 in his last race. That speed rating should be strong enough to score this time out.

KING OF NEW YORK - Hard to recommend any horse with lessening Equibase speed figures of 77/73/68. It’s hard to fathom how rookie starter Mitch Keller is getting this much respect for the Pirates considering how terrible he has been in two starts this season. Keller has allowed 12 earned runs and 21 base runners in 7 innings for a 15.43 ERA and 3.00 WHIP against the Braves and Reds. Daniel Norris is 9-3 (+10.8 units) as a road dog of +125 to +175 lifetime. Give me the Tigers.

I'll take my chances here with the UNDER 9 in Tuesday's AL East clash between the Mets and Braves, which has Jacob deGrom facing off against Julio Teheran. I just think we are seeing a high total here because of the fact that Atlanta has been swinging the bat extremely well. A big reason for that is the lack of quality starting pitching that they have faced. That's not the case here. deGrom has returned to his Cy Young form with a 2.29 ERA and 0.966 WHIP in his last 3 starts. He's also got a stupid good 1.86 ERA in 18 starts vs Atlanta. Teheran has a 2.92 ERA in 15 starts overall, 1.85 ERA in 6 home starts and a 0.53 ERA in his last 3 outings. Give me the UNDER 9!

Jacob de Grom has a 2.29 ERA his last three starts but the Mets lost all three of them. He's now 0-1 with a 2.35 ERA his past five. Sound familiar? It certainly does to de Grom. The Mets rarely provide him with much run support and they're unlikely to do so this evening either. Thats because Teheran has a superb 0.81 ERA over his past eight starts. Teheran has also always pitched well against the Mets. In fact, he's allowed just 10 combined runs in his past eight starts against them. Assuming you can get a nine, consider the UNDER in this one.

The Atlanta Braves put a 12-3 beating on the New York Mets on Monday night. I expect runs to be fewer and far between here in Game 2 of the series with two red hot pitchers on the mound.
Braves' right-hander Julio Teheran (5-4, 2.92 ERA) has allowed no more than one earned run in any of his last eight starts. He has surrendered just three earned runs over his last 27 2/3 innings of work and held the Mets to one run with six Ks over six innings back on April 14.
The Mets turn to Jacob deGrom (3-6, 3.38 ERA) who has allowed just eight earned runs over his last five starts. deGrom has dominated the Braves throughout his career, entering this contest with a 1.86 ERA through 116 career innings against the club.

The Atlanta Braves are playing their best baseball of the season right now and should not be home underdogs to the Mets. The Braves are 10-1 in their last 11 games overall and have scored at least 5 runs in nine straight coming in.
Julio Teheran has actually posted better numbers than Jacob DeGrom this season. Indeed, he is 5-4 with a 2.92 ERA in 15 starts this season, including 3-1 with a 1.85 ERA in six home starts. Teheran is also 2-0 with a 0.53 ERA in his last three starts, allowing just one earned run in 17 innings.
Not to mention, Teheran has owned the Mets throughout his career. He is 10-7 with a 2.16 ERA and 1.038 WHIP in 25 career starts against them. DeGrom is 3-6 with a 3.37 ERA in 14 starts this season for New York. And the Braves (4.04 ERA) have the superior bullpen over the Mets (5.47 ERA).
