    Soccer | Venezuela vs Brazil
    Play on: Brazil -2 -132 at 5Dimes

The Copa America Comp Play is on Brazil -2 goals as they have the backing of the home crowd as they take on a Venezuela team that finished last in WC Qualifiers. Brazil should coast here as they have won 21 of the last 22 in the series. Brazil is off a nice win over Bolivia where they kept a clean sheet and may very well do the same here today. We look for a 3-4 goals win here. Play on Brazil. Rob V- GC Sports.

I got no problem laying some big time juice with the Dodgers on Tuesday. San Francisco won the series opener 3-2 on Monday, but had just 3 hits in the victory. It's going to be equally hard on them at the plate in game 2, as they go up against Clayton Kershaw.
While Kershaw might not have the overwhelming power that he once possessed, the guy is 6-1 with a 3.25 ERA and 1.083 WHIP in 11 starts. Guy has pitched at least 6 innings in every start he's made in 2019 and LA is a perfect 7-0 in his 7 home starts. He's also owned the Giants. Kershaw has made a ridiculous 45 starts against SF in his career and owns a ridiculous 1.69 ERA in those 45 starts.
Dodgers are 39-13 in their last 52 home games, 52-25 in their last 77 off a loss and 55-13 in Kershaw's last 68 vs a team from the NL West. Take Los Angeles!

                    Bob Valentino

Talking about a rock-solid 4 runs or more winner for Tuesday.

You would think that with Jacob de Grom and Julio Teheran doing the mound-work we might be headed for a low-scoring game in Atlanta this Tuesday night, but based on both pitchers season numbers, and based on what both teams - especially the Braves - have been doing at the plate of late, I think we are headed for another Over.

de Grom has seen 2 of his last 3 starts play Over the total, and 9 of his 14 overall starts this season also land Over the total.

Teheran has also seen 2 of his last 3 starts play Over the total, and 8 of his 15 overall starts this season also play Over the total.

Atlanta just continues to knock the cover off of the baseball, as yesterday's series opener against New York saw the braves pick up where they left off after Philadelphia left town on Sunday when they plated 15 runs, as the Braves opened with a cool dozen last night versus the Mets.

The Braves have now played Overs in 9 in a row, and they are 17-2 Over the total overall in their last 19 games contested!

With last night's Over, the Mets have now gone Over the total in 6 of their last 7 games.

de Grom and Teheran are certainly capable of shutting down the attacks tonight, but the way the Braves have been rolling, I am not going against another Over just yet.

The Over is now 3-1-1 thus far in this year's season series, and right now it makes no sense in playing an Atlanta game to land Under the total.

Mets-Braves to slip Over the total for Tuesday.

                    4* N.Y. METS-ATLANTA OVER

My free play for tonight is on the Angels in Toronto, as they continue their road trip and have the advantage with this pitching matchup.

Tyler Skaggs finally celebrated a win, and I think he'll carry the momentum into tonight's game. Skaggs won for the first time since May 13 in his last start, as he twirled a five-inning, three-run gem against the hard-hitting and American League East-leading Tampa Bay Rays.

The left-hander is much better than his 5-6 mark and 5.00 ERA, and he'll come in with confidence, as he's 3-2 with a 3.93 ERA in six career starts against these Blue Jays.

On the flipside, the Jays hand the ball to Stroman, who has a 4.82 ERA in three June starts, having allowed a combined 10 earned runs over 18 2/3 innings.

The Angels won last night 10-5, as Mike Trout went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBIs. Look for the offensive momentum to spill over, as the Halos shine.

                      2* ANGELS (Skaggs over Stroman)

Cleveland and Texas entered Monday's action playing some winning baseball, and it was Texas that continued with that winning baseball, taking the series opener by a 7-2 score.

That win puts the Rangers at 3-1 their last 4, and a rock-solid 25-12 when playing in Arlington this season. The loss by the Indians snapped a 3 game winning streak, and was just their fourth in their last dozen played.

I like the Tribe tonight to even things in this 4 game set behind the youngster Zach Plesac who will bounce-back from his worst start in his young major league career. Plesac was touched up for 4 runs in his 5-plus innings of work in a loss to Cincinnati his last time out. That after allowing just 4 total runs in his 19-plus previous frames of work.

Adrian Sampson will oppose Plesac, and he ran into some trouble his last time out too, as he had a 5-start winning streak halted by the Boston Red Sox - 6 runs on 7 hits, with 4 of the hits being home runs - as Sampson escaped with the no-decision. Sampson has done quality work at Globe Life Park where he is 4-1 with a 2.70 ERA, but with Hunter Pence now sidelined in a lineup that also has Joey Gallo and Nomar Mazara also ailing, you wonder how much longer the Rangers can continue at this winning clip they have been on?

Even with the loss last night, Cleveland is still 10-4 over the last 14 series meetings against Texas.

Going to look for the Indians to level this 4 game set with the win here on Tuesday night.

                        2* CLEVELAND

Out of pure general principle, I'm taking the Minnesota Twins over the Boston Red Sox, and I won't bother listing pitchers.

The Red Sox got a fine performance from Rick Porcello last night, and now the Twins will be out for revenge. I don't care that David Price is going for the Crimson Hose, it doesn't matter to me. I also don't care about Minnesota's Michael Pineda.

What matters to me is how well Jose Berrios pitched for the Twins last night, only to have his team fail to win because their vaunted offense that leads the majors with a .273 batting average couldn't come through.

Tonight, it will, at Target Field, where the Twins are 23-12.

And we're going to see guys like Jorge Polanco, Eddie Rosario and Nelson Cruz come to life at the plate tonight, leading the charge in the second game of this three-game set.

Polanco leads the club with a batting average of .332, Rosario leads the Twins with 19 home runs and has 52 RBIs and Cruz is hitting .351 (13-for-37) with two doubles, five home runs and 11 RBIs over his last 10 games.

Take the Twins, as they bring the bats tonight.

                            COMPLIMENTARY WINNER

I'll be quick with this freebie on the Houston Astros, as I think we own the pitching matchup tonight, even though the Cincinnati Reds have the third-best ERA in baseball.

The Astros hand the ball to veteran Justin Verlander, who just struck out a career-high 15 batters last Wednesday against the hard-hitting Milwaukee Brewers.

Verlander is 9-2 on the year with a 2.41 ERA, and is easily among the leading candidates - along with Tampa Bay's Charlie Morton - for the American League Cy Young Award.

The Reds are good on the mound, but their hitting is atrocious, and their hitters will struggle against Verlander.

Meanwhile, Houston's volatile offense should get to Anthony DeSclafani, who makes his first-ever start against the Astros. DeSclafani is 3-2 with a 4.27 ERA in nine career Interleague games.

The Astros, who are 21-14 on the road this season, have the fourth-best batting average in baseball, at .265, and the ninth-most runs scored, with 379.

                            Houston wins big tonight.

WNBA Lady Luck: June 18 free picks, predictions and betting odds

Candace Parker, a two-time WNBA MVP, averaged almost 18 points per game in 2018 and adds another weapon to a L.A. offense ranked third in scoring in the league, pouring in 81.1 points per game.

There’s only a single game on the WNBA betting odds board Tuesday but it so happens to feature the return of one of the league’s all-time greats, when the Washington Mystics visit the Los Angeles Sparks for a late 10:30 p.m. ET tipoff.

We size up tonight’s odds and give our best bets and WNBA predictions in our daily "Lady Luck".

Washington Mystics at Los Angeles Sparks (-3, 162.5)

One of the biggest stars of the WNBA returns to action Tuesday night. Los Angeles Sparks forward Candace Parker has been cleared to play after missing the start of the 2019 schedule with a hamstring injury.

Parker, a two-time WNBA MVP, averaged almost 18 points per game in 2018 and adds another weapon to a L.A. offense ranked third in scoring in the league, pouring in 81.1 points per game.

The 6-foot-4 Parker should also help improve the Sparks defense (even if she plays limited minutes), which has struggled in recent contests. Los Angeles is allowing an average of 85 points against on 42.9 percent shooting over the past four games, going 2-2 SU and ATS in those outings.

While L.A. brings back its top talent (and possibly Alana Beard, who is listed as questionable tonight), the Washington Mystics are missing some important role players. Emma Meesseman and Kim Mestdagh have been “suspended” by the team while they participate in the Women’s EuroBasket tournament for Belgium.

Meesseman was scoring 13.3 points per contest while Mestdagh was logging more than 16 minutes per game and scoring three points per outing off the bench. Washington has undoubtedly missed them, dropping their past two games without the duo and scoring just 71 and 75 points in defeats to Connecticut and Seattle.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, has played well without Parker and Beard to start the year. The Sparks are 4-3 and 3-3-1 ATS and getting terrific work from sisters Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike as well as guard Chelsea Gray. Take L.A. to cover the spread at home tonight.

                              PREDICTION: Los Angeles -3

                              Sunday’s picks: 2-0
                              Season to date: 18-9
