Marquez v. Samardzija

Marquez has been (mostly) exemplary on the road and gets a spot following MadBum and a win for the Gmen. In this spot on the season following a win at home with him on the mound the Giants are 0-3. Going back to last season they are 0-7 in such a spot. Marquez has an FIP/STOP split of 3.61/3.44 and Ks more than 9 per 9 and walks less than 2 per 9! The last time he faced the Giants in Oracle he threw a complete game shutout!

Samardzija is off a Win despite not looking good at all and that combined with last night's win against the Rockies gets is this excellent price here! He is the reverse of Marquez with his FIP fade material being fully in effect and the Rockies are 7-2 in games following games inside series where they score 4 or less runs!

Everything points to a quick outing for Jeffy boy today and we snag an easy winner before the night time slate hits!

Vargas v. Pivetta

Line moving toward the Phils but still LOVE the value of about -150. Sometimes in baseball we have to pay the big wood and the Phillies are definitely the right side and Pivetta is regularly unlucky with the HR ball. His xFIP is a full play on situation and giving up 1 HR per every 4th fly ball is definitely a spot I love to back as coming down to earth...and he has a really solid slider!

Vargas is a fade on play every week I feel and no different here as he continues to have the ball handed to him every 5th game.
