I favor PENNYBACKER BRIDGE here. Look for this racer to be close up at the wire versus these horses. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the group of horses recently. With better than average trips to the winner's circle, Wood will most likely have this gelding in excellent position to win the contest. SUMMERSWEET ROAD - Will likely be one of the front-runners of the bunch going into the halfway point of the affair. With one of the top jockeys in terms of returns at the window, don't count this gelding out. JERKWATER - Have to take notice when any animal makes a quick major improvement.

AWESOME ARROW is my choice. She should be considered given the solid speed figs. Looks very strong to be on or close to the lead at the first call. Ought to be given a chance in here if only for the formidable speed rating recorded in the last contest. YADIRA M - Could beat this field given the 77 speed figure garnered in her last outing. Overall the speed figures of this horse look quite good in this race. LAKE GIRL - This one has been consistently racing well as of late. Has put up strong Equibase speed figs in dirt sprint races in the past.

CHARITABLE LASS - Have to make this filly a contender; she comes off a nice effort on June 20th. Sprinters that come back to the races quickly are generally good plays. Trainer, Ingram, has been deliberate with this filly off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today. CALLING INDIA - Villegas rode this mount for the initial time last out and comes right back today. This filly should run better today now that she's back facing here own gender.

UAINTSEENMECRAZYET - Difficult to take this pony at these odds after the finish position (fifth) in the last race. YODEL LADY - This horse ran a pedestrian speed rating in the last race. She shouldn't run much better and will probably get beat today running that rating. FLIRTIN HEART - You always think this animal has a shot to win, but she falters often. This filly has had numerous races at Charles Town and still no victories. Substandard speed rating last time out at Charles Town at 6 1/2 furlongs. Don't think this entrant will improve too much in today's event.

This gelding has 'tactical' speed, Sarmiento will use this advantage by laying in perfect striking position behind the pace, and getting first run on the leaders. I like to bet on this handicapping theory, a horse coming back off a nice effort within the last thirty days.
