BRIO MAN - This gelding shows a classic pattern of layoff, two sprints, and stretching to a route today. This mount earns a lot of money per start. I believe he can augment the lifetime bankroll right here. CHARMING INDY - I expect this horse to shock some folks today. BILLY BADPAY - You always have to be on the prowl for money making jock/conditioner tandems; we have it right here. In his last race, this gelding showed good early speed then fell back before finishing nicely. ZIPPED CODE - This horse is in good condition. Ran first on June 8th. Rounding his way back into form. Each of his finish positions is getting better in his recent starts. This horse is most obviously on the improve with speed ratings of 50, 78, 83 last three out. I've got to go with RUNAWAY POSSE. Is a very solid contender based on figures garnered lately under today's conditions. Is hard not to examine based on speed figures which have been formidable - 85 avg - of late. With a nice class figure average of 101, has one of the most respectable class advantages in this group of animals. BIBBO - Should expect this horse to be close up at the wire versus these horses. He has to be given consideration given the solid speed figs. KEEN GIZMO - Looks quite good for the conditions of this race today, showing solid numbers in turf sprint races lately. Overall, has one of the best earnings per start in turf sprint contests in this lot.

DIPLODOCUS - In this race here, this horse has notched the highest speed rating at the distance, so I have to give him the edge. Entered a $16,000 Claiming race at Delaware Park in the last race and raced on a muddy track finishing fifth. Will most certainly do better in this race. I'm focusing on the class of this horse, and this one is the 'classiest' of the bunch.

The Cincinnati Reds have a big advantage on the mound at home today against the Milwaukee Brewers. They should be favored, and instead we are getting them at basically even money.
Tyler Mahle has been at his best at home this season, going 2-1 with a 3.29 ERA and 1.134 WHIP in five home starts. The Reds have won four of those five starts. Mahle has posted a 2.53 ERA in two career starts against the Brewers as well.
Adrian Houser has really been roughed up in limited action this season for the Brewers. He is 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA and 2.500 WHIP in three starts this year, giving up 8 earned runs and 20 base runners in 8 innings of work.
The Brewers are 0-6 in their last six during Game 1 of a series. Milwaukee is 1-5 in its last six road games. The Reds are 6-1 in their last seven home games. Bet the Reds Monday.

The betting public is all over the Padres in this one, which I believe is creating some big time value here with San Francisco as a massive home dog. While the Padres are 4-1 in their last 5, they did lost the finale against St Louis on Sunday and are a team that often plays down to their competition.
San Diego is a mere 2-8 in their last 10 vs a team with a losing record. I know starter Logan Allen has looked great, but he's only made two big league starts, so don't get carried away with his 1.38 ERA and 1.154 WHIP. That can go bad in a hurry.
Giants will counter with Jeff Samardzija, who hasn't been great in 2019, but has quite a good history against the Padres. Samardzija is 7-3 with a strong 3.54 ERA and 1.121 WHIP in 16 career starts against San Diego. He started a game at San Diego earlier this year and didn't allow a earned run in 5 innings. Simply put, no way should the Padres be this big a favorite here. Take San Francisco!

The set-up: In a contest which I envision being decided late or in extra’s, I’m going to lay what I feel to be a very reasonable price for the extra 1.5 runs of insurance. The Giants go with Jeff Samardzija, while the home side goes with Logan Allen on the mound this evening.
The pitchers: Samardzija (4-7, 4.52 ERA) has an 8-3 record vs. the Friars with a 3.46 ERA lifetime (he’s 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA in nine appearances at Petco Park).
Allen (2-0, 1.38) has made two big league starts. Clearly the sample size is much too small to draw any real conclusions.
The pick: Take it for what you will as well, but San Diego is just 2-5 in its last seven as a home favorite in the -125 to -165 range. While I do in fact believe the outright win is possible, in the end I’ll recommend grabbing the 1.5 runs in this particular matchup.

Monday comp play goes out on the Rangers over the Angels.

After winning 6 straight games, the Rangers took it on the chin in their last pair over the weekend at Tampa Bay, Now they are back home and will be playing behind the surprising Mike Minor who has been a key part of Texas' 46-38 season mark, as the veteran southpaw has won each of his last 3 starts, and is fresh off a complete game win at Detroit with just 5 hits allowed and 1 run surrendered.

Minor has gone 4-2 with a 2.02 ERA at home this season. He has already bested the Angels once this season back in the month of April, as he improved his career mark to 3-0 with a 2.23 ERA over his 7 career appearances versus the Halos.

Jose Suarez will go for the Angels, and his season ERA of 5.57 does not bode well for holding the Rangers silent this Monday night in Arlington. Suarez' ERA away from Anaheim is an even higher 6.06.

LA hits Texas having lost their last 3 games, and have dropped 6 of their last 10 games overall entering Monday's action.

I will lay it with the Rangers and the streaking Minor at home on Monday night.
