I'll take my chances here with Philadelphia as a home dog against the Braves. Phillies have won 3 straight and 5 of 6 overall. Atlanta on the other hand has lost 6 of 8 and were just swept at home by the Royals. Braves getting love here with Mike Soroka on the mound, but he's got a 4.07 ERA and 1.641 WHIP in his last 3 starts and in his only start vs the Phillies (7/4), he gave up 4 runs on 9 hits in 4 2/3 innings. Phillies send out Jake Arrieta who is 5-2 with a 2.85 ERA and 1.183 WHIP in 8 career starts against the Braves. In his only start against Atlanta this year he allowed just 1 run on 6 innings. Arrieta has won 8 of his last 9 starts in July, while the Braves are 3-11 in their last 14 following an off day. Give me Philadelphia +120!Comment

The Washington Nationals are coming off an 8-7 loss to Colorado on Thursday while the LA Dodgers had the day off to recover. The rest advantage is only one of the reasons why I think the Dodgers will prove well worth the price as a road favorite here at Nationals Park Friday night.
Additionally, the Dodgers will hand the ball to Hyun-Jin Ryu (11-2, 1.76 ERA) who has handcuffed the Nats throughout his career, boasting a 2-1 mark with a 1.35 ERA in four starts versus Washington. The Nats meanwhile turn to Anibal Sanchez (6-6, 3.80 ERA) who fell to 1-3 with a 3.89 ERA in eight career meetings with the Dodgers after surrendering three runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings when he faced them on May 10.
Washington has played exceptionally well home at Nationals Stadium lately winning 13 of its last 17 in front of the home town crowd, but note that the Dodgers are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Washington.

With the Dodgers Hyun-Jin Ryu (11-2, 1.76 ERA) having a fantastic season and Anibal Sanchez (6-6, 3.80) for Washington posting a 2.70 ERA in his past nine starts, the last thing one would expect is a total climbing from 9 to 9.5. While one could make a case for a higher-scoring affair in part because of the bullpens, the Nationals are 15-4 UNDER this month and L.A. is 18-9 UNDER after two or more consecutive Under's this season. I'll go against the grain.Comment
