LEO D - A horse coming back this promptly after a sharp effort is a good omen. This gelding's last figure is good enough to triumph here, I'll bet on him right back this time around. MAGICAL EXPRESS - This gelding is in top condition right now. Ended up first last time out and comes back soon. Lone speed horses can be tough to run down. Here's a lone front-runner facing sluggish sorts today. INVOCATION - I expect this fine animal to surprise some fans this time around.
Vulnerable Contenders: #8 GOLDEN CHALLENGE (ML=7/2), #1 ELECTRIFYING (ML=5/1), #4 STRONGBOW (ML=6/1),
GOLDEN CHALLENGE - Hard to bet this steed the way he ran inconsistently last out. This gelding probably needs a more preferred pace scenario to make his late move. The rating in the last race doesn't fit very well in this affair when I look at the class rating of today's event. Mark this horse as a likely underlay. ELECTRIFYING - A rallier like this one needs an early battle to set things up and he isn't likely to get one this time out. This gelding garnered a speed figure in his last event which likely isn't good enough in today's race. STRONGBOW - You always think this equine has a shot to be victorious, but he falls short most every time. Hard to back any animal with deteriorating Equibase speed figures of 82/77/70. Finished second in his most recent race with a somewhat easily forgotten speed rating. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to triumph after that in this bunch.
