SPOILED BY GOD - He keeps getting closer at the finish with each and every start. The morning line odds on this gelding are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of conditioner Shilling. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. The last speed rating of 68 is the best last race speed fig in the group. Have to give this gelding a chance. Ran a good race last out within the last month. GRIZZLY - Trainer, Bird, has been deliberate with this colt off the layoff. Look for a solid effort today. CAPTAIN REGAN - This jockey and conditioner are consistent together. Win pct when teamed up is very hard to top. Last out, finished fifth in the slop at Mountaineer Park. Should do much better right here.

Z MARDI GRAS - Registered a common speed rating in the last race in a $4,000 Claiming race on Jul 28th. Unlikely to see an improved performance off of that fig. MUN UP - 8/1 odds isn't enough for this thoroughbred when checking the most recent outings.

The average class fig alone makes this one a definite contender.

SAINTLY AURA - Have to believe this horse will do well following the quick turnaround. Ran a solid last race. ANTARES DREAM - Strong average Equibase Speed Figures in dirt sprint races make this horse a solid choice. Has been racing in the most competitive company of the field lately.

COURTING A KISS - This racer should go right out to the early lead and may never look back. Could gate to wire the field. Likes to go to the front end and the fact that today is a shorter trip should be favorable. Just look at his most recent speed fig, 76. That one fits in this group. Getting a weight break of 5 pounds from last race at Woodbine on July 14th. This certainly could make the difference in this race.

Followed it up with another lackluster performance. SURE WOULD FOREST - This runner ran a run-of-the-mill speed rating last out. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will probably suffer defeat in today's event running that number.
