MINNESOTA LYNX AT ATLANTA DREAM (+4, 147.5)

The Lynx aren’t making any fans out of the WNBA bettors this season, building a reputation for blowing games in the fourth quarter and burning bettors along with those losses.

Minnesota let a 20-point lead disappear in Saturday’s loss to Indiana, failing to cover as a 3-point road favorite, and have been outscored 19.5 to 17.2 in the final 10 minutes of games on the season.

The one consistent for Minny has been its defense, which ranks sixth in the WNBA in points allowed. It has recently run into a couple high-powered offense in Las Vegas and Washington and checked those attacks to just 79 points a piece – staying below the total in both matchups. The Lynx have actually been better defensively on the road, limiting foes to 75.7 points on 42.8 percent shooting in their own gyms.

Atlanta doesn’t bring the same scoring threats as the Aces and Mystics, sitting dead last in the league in points per game at 69.5. The Dream won the previous home stand versus the Lynx on July 12 – a 60-53 snorer which stayed well Under the 149-point total. These teams have gone Under in five of their previous seven encounters.

With Minnesota pushing for the postseason and looking to redeem itself after a blown opportunity, and Atlanta punchless on offense, we like another low-scoring finish Tuesday night.

Tuesday comp play on the Brewers over the Pirates.

After getting swept in a 3 game set at Chicago against the Cubs, Milwaukee needed to get things straightened out last night in the series opener against the Pirates, and they did just that in their 9-7 win over Pittsburgh.

Going to lay the road wood tonight in the second game of this series, as the Brewers need to build off of last night's win against a Pittsburgh team that is now on a 3 game slide.

The Bucs have dropped 8 of their past 9 at PNC Park, and are 6-21 overall their last 28 games played. Pittsburgh has also lost 9 of the past 12 series meetings to Milwaukee.

Chase Anderson has been steady for the Brewers as each of his last 8 starts have seen 2 runs or fewer allowed.

Steven Brault has been sidelined for the past month with shoulder issues, and I have a feeling the hot-hitting Christian Yelich is going to give Brault a rude return.

Milwaukee the call for Tuesday in the Steel City.

Last night's series opener saw 8 combined runs and an Under, as the Braves made it 5 of their last 8 games landing on the lower side of the equation.


For the Twins it was their second Under in a row.


Mike Foltyniewicz is back with the big club after being sent down to Triple-A, as the former All-Star from 2018 simply has not regained the form that saw him win 13 games last season. I am sure he does not wish to get sent back down to the farm, so I am going to look for Folty to pitch this game like it was Game Seven of the World Series.


Jose Berrios has been very tough since the All-Star Break, as he sports a slim ERA of 1.82 since the break, and over his 9 home starts this year stands at 5-2 with an ERA of 2.10.


I am calling for the runs to be limited tonight.
