The Panthers will be without Cam Newton tonight so already right off the bat the Bills have the advantage with their #1 QB being in the game. Last week Carolina didn’t play their starters. The Bills played their starters about a quarter. Once again Buffalo is further along in the preseason progress and conditioning. Preseason is all about finding advantages. We have a big one here, but the question is does that really matter come the 3rd and 4th quarter when the deep backups are in? Take the Bills.

Giants -3 over Bears
Bears coach Matt Nagy is on record saying he doesn’t care if Mitch Trubisky throws one preseason pass. I love this about a coach. The preseason should be treated like a joke and everyone should come out of it healthy. What I really liked about the Giants in the first preseason game was how their backup QB’s played. Daniel Jones looked great as did Kyle Lauletta. The Giants also played great defense with their deeper backups in the final quarter. Chicago is so stacked on defense that you really don’t need anybody to play and it’s going to be really hard for anyone to make the team on that side of the ball. Will Eli get a longer series tonight and will there be a week 1 QB controversy? Time will tell. Take the Giants.

Bucs -3 over Dolphins
The Bucs could end up being a dangerous offensive team this year. Byron Leftwich is becoming a great play caller. This team look in midseason form last week. Miami’s QB’s all were in different cities last year so just getting everyone on the same page is going to take time. Kenyan Drake will miss tonight’s game so the work load will be on Kalen Ballage. I am not sure they want to wear this guy out before the games start to count. Miami has issues on their offensive line and I feel they are just not ready to start the season yet. The Bucs have a deep defensive rotation and quality rookies added to the roster this year. This should be an entertaining game between two young teams. Take Tampa.

Alcantara v. Gray

I have a ton of analysis on this one...but time is of the essence and I don't wanna screw the pooch by waiting!

Jon Gray is likely the Rockies best starter going...Alcantara is a serious FADE target....and the Fish rushed their asses to Denver to mile high weather hard to breathe in after first arriving and on top of all that...made mincemeat of Buehler and the NL stand alone league studs and put up 13 runs in doing so...just yesterday.



Almost too easy and TOO MUCH VALUE...



Marlins in a spot with just a 12-20 SU record as a dog traveling to Colorado on no rest

Jon Gray is BETTER at home than he is on the road! His splits are oddly pro-Coors and while it makes less sense considering what Coors is...he is consistent!

Sandy has a 5.58 xFIP compared to his 4.44 ERA which fits perfectly into our xFIP system and this also puts him firmly as the dead last starter in the MLB in this category of all qualified starters. He also ranks last with 4.31 BB/9 inning rate and both of these he is juuuust narrowly ahead of our other fade device (worked out WELL last night) in Julio Teheran...thing about Teheran is his regular run support and semi-excellent lineup ahead of him!

The Rockies also are the second best team in most all metrics hitting against RHP at home....mashing for

Hard to believe Alcantara stands a chance in this...and why I like the first 5 play the best is I don't like messing with the Rockies bullpen...who can burn you even against a team who just crushed the Dodgers playing above their heads and just flew into Denver. Jon Gray doesn't have that as a likely problem....but the Rockies offense will be ready and HUMMING!
