The Cardinals have been the hottest team in the National League the last two weeks and are holding on to a slight lead in the NL Central. This is a big series for the division and wild card race. Milwaukee only could get one hit last night and this is not exactly the best time of the year for the bats to go cold. In a playoff type setting I have to go with the better bullpen. Gio Gonzalez doesn’t pitch deep into games so the advantage goes to St. Louis once the bullpens take over. Take the Cardinals

Quantrill has allowed 8 runs in his last 38 innings pitched....since he first dropped from the starting rotation....and has been quite spectacular actually. Tonight he gets a Reds squad that looked lifeless last night and tonight they are sending out an even less lineup with O'Grady and VanMeter starting, Aquino looking like a human being and even Peraza (who looked like the only life from Bauer's solid effort last night) not getting the start.



Sonny Gray =monster beast and even moreso against an offense like the Dads...who are also without Tatis and of course Reyes long gone. Should be child's play...especially in the early going....and we can eliminate funky bullpen shenanigans
